    • Jorge Soler (illness) remains out of Giants lineup
Jorge Soler (illness) remains out of the Giants’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s showdown against the Blue Jays.

Advice: It’s the second straight game that the 32-year-old slugger has missed while feeling a bit under the weather. Mike Yastrzemski will start in his place in right field and will bat seventh for the Giants against Jays’ right-hander Chris Bassitt on Wednesday evening in San Francisco. Rotoworld Today, 3:19 pm

    • Sitting again Wednesday
Soler (illness) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Soler was scratched from Tuesday's starting nine due to an illness and will remain on the bench again for Wednesday's contest. Patrick Bailey will rest his legs as San Francisco's designated hitter while Curt Casali receives a start behind the plate. Rotowire.com Today, 3:16 pm

    • On bench for second game of day
Winn is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Royals.

Advice: After going 0-for-4 in the Cardinals' 6-4 loss in the first game of the day, Winn will get a breather for the nightcap. Brandon Crawford will fill in at shortstop in place of Winn, who had started in each of St. Louis' last 10 games. Rotowire.com Today, 2:11 pm

    • Resting for second leg of twin bill
Castro is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Advice: Kyle Farmer will get the nod at second base in the nightcap after Castro manned the keystone in the Twins' 3-1 loss in Game 1, going 0-for-3 with a walk. Castro is on the bench for the first time since June 20, ending a streak of 17 consecutive starts. Rotowire.com Today, 1:48 pm

    • James McArthur notches 16th save versus Cardinals
Despite giving up a homer to the Cardinals’ Paul Goldschmidt, James McArthur earned his 16th save in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: McArthur also allowed a single before getting Lars Nootbaar on a flyout to end it. He really struggled in May and he took one bad loss last month, but the run he allowed today was his first surrendered in nine appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:33 pm
    • Sitting versus southpaw
Abreu is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: With southpaw JP Sears toeing the rubber for Oakland, the left-handed-hitting Abreu will begin the contest on the bench. Tyler O'Neill and Rob Refsnyder will serve as Boston's corner outfielders while Abreu takes a seat. Rotowire.com Today, 11:37 am

    • Belts seventh homer
Abreu went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 12-9 win over the A's.

Advice: Every Boston starter recorded at least one hit and one run in the contest, but Abreu led the team in RBI thanks largely to a three-run shot off Tyler Ferguson in the second inning. It was the outfielder's seventh homer of the season but his first in 13 games since returning from an ankle injury in late June, a stretch in which Abreu is slashing just .195/.227/.341 with a 38.6-percent strikeout rate. • Two more homers in Tuesday's win
Raleigh went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-run homers, a double and three runs scored in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Padres.

Advice: The switch-hitting Raleigh was able to accomplish hitting a home run from both sides of the plate Tuesday night. He began with a two-run blast in the third from the left side and then matched it with a two-run shot from the right side in the seventh to put the Mariners up 7-0. Raleigh has just 62 hits this season and is hitting .210, but 17 of those have gone for home runs, leading to 55 RBI, which is tied for second among catchers. Raleigh has never been a guy to hit for much average but has always made up for it in the power department. His 74 home runs since the beginning of 2022 lead all catchers in the MLB and his 17 homers this season are the most by a Mariners' catcher before the All-Star break. The 27-year-old is slashing .210/.295/.414 and is on pace for career highs in home runs and RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 am

    • Cal Raleigh hits two homers in Mariners’ victory
Cal Raleigh went 3-for-5 and delivered his 16th and 17th homers Tuesday as the Mariners topped the Padres 8-3.

Advice: Raleigh has just 62 hits this season, but more than one-quarter of them are homers and he’s driven in 55 runs, which is particularly impressive given that the Mariners are getting .284 OBPs out of both the second and third spots in the lineup this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:07 pm
