• Headed for injured list
The Orioles will place Mateo on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a dislocated left elbow, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Mateo suffered the injury during a collision with Gunnar Henderson while attempting to make a diving play in Tuesday's contest. Connor Norby, who was added to Baltimore's taxi squad Wednesday, will be recalled from Triple-A to fill the opening in the Orioles' infield and is expected to start Thursday's series finale against the Marlins. • Big day in Wednesday's win
De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two additional runs scored and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 9-4 win over Atlanta.

Advice: After singling and swiping his 50th bag of the season in the first inning, De La Cruz took Allan Winans deep in the third for his 18th long ball. The 22-year-old shortstop did commit two more errors in wet conditions, giving him 20 on the year, but that's about the only blemish on his season so far. In addition to leading the majors with 51 steals, De La Cruz has an 11-game hit streak going in which he's batting .378 (17-for-45) with five doubles, a triple and three homers. • Not starting Wednesday
Estrada isn't in the Giants' lineup Wednesday versus the Dodgers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Estrada went 0-for-2 during Tuesday's loss and will now sit down for the third time in San Francisco's last four games. Brett Wisely will fill the void at second base and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 6:01 pm

  • Homers, swipes bag
Turner went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the Twins.

Advice: Turner got to work early in this one, swiping his 13th base of the season in the top of the first inning before taking David Festa deep in the fifth to tie the game. The hamstring injury that cost Turner six weeks earlier this season appears to have sapped his stolen base production -- the 31-year-old has just three steals since returning on June 17. Even so, the shortstop has been on a tear in the month of July, batting .356 with 10 home runs, 22 RBI, 18 runs scored and three stolen bases in 18 games played. Rotowire.com Today, 4:29 pm

  • Dodgers sign Nick Ahmed to one-year contract
Dodgers signed INF Nick Ahmed to a one-year contract.

Advice: The 34-year-old shortstop will be active and in uniform for Wednesday night’s battle against his former team — the Giants. Miguel Rojas (forearm) landed on the injured list in a corresponding move on Wednesday. Expect Ahmed so see most of his action with the Dodgers against left-handed pitching, though he’s unlikely to be relevant from a fantasy perspective. Rotoworld Today, 4:24 pm

  • Dodgers place Miguel Rojas (forearm) on 10-day IL
Dodgers placed INF Miguel Rojas on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 22, with right forearm tightness.

Advice: The 35-year-old infielder left Sunday’s game due to tightness in his right forearm and it doesn’t sound like it improved much over the last few days, so they’ll sit him down for a bit to make sure that he heals properly. Nick Ahmed was signed to a major league contract and will take his place on the Dodgers’ active roster. Rotoworld Today, 4:21 pm

  • Lands on injured list
The Dodgers placed Rojas on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with right forearm tightness.

Advice: Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Rojas is dealing with a flexor strain, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, so the team will shut him down from throwing for "a while." The newly signed Nick Ahmed will see the majority of starts at shortstop while Rojas is sidelined. Rotowire.com Today, 4:13 pm

  • Signs with Dodgers
Ahmed signed a major-league contract with the Dodgers on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Ahmed was released by the Giants on July 10 but will now find work in the Dodgers' infield as Miguel Rojas (forearm) heads to the IL. Ahmed slashed just .232/.278/.303 through 172 plate appearances during his time in San Francisco, though he will still see the majority of reps at shortstop while Rojas is out. • Ezequiel Tovar homers, plates two in blowout win
Ezequiel Tovar went 3-for-6 with a solo homer and two RBI on Wednesday in the Rockies’ blowout win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Tovar’s recent hot streak continued on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field as he kicked off Colorado’s eventual 20-run outburst with a first-inning solo shot -- his 17th big fly of the season -- off Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta. He also plated an additional run in the ensuing frame with a run-scoring single as part of a three-hit effort. The 22-year-old shortstop has been sizzling hot of late, hitting .328 (22-for-67) with five homers and 12 RBI over his last 15 games. He’s going to strike out a ton, but he’s hitting for a ton of over-the-fence pop with a palatable batting average at the moment. Rotoworld Today, 3:10 pm
