• Taylor Ward drives in game-winner against Dodgers
Taylor Ward stole a base and drove home the game-winning run in the 10th against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Ward untied the game with an RBI single in the top of the 10th off Evan Phillips to give the Angels the lead and the (surprising) victory. The stolen base was just the third of the year for the 30-year-old outfielder. After a red-hot start, Ward has come back to earth — something that’s happened a bunch on his career — with a .240/.325/.419 slash over 77 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:56 pm
  • Ohtani gets Tungsten O’Doyle’d against former team
Shohei Ohtani homered and reached four times in a 3-2 loss to the Angels on Friday in 10 innings.

Advice: We’re used to seeing those type of efforts from Ohtani being wasted, but usually it was for the Angels, not against them. The 29-year-old absolutely destroyed a solo blast off Matt Moore in the fifth for his 22nd homer of the year and 55th RBI of the season. The only blemish was a caught stealing for Ohtani, but that was just the second of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:56 pm

  • Royce Lewis hits 10th homer in 16th game
Royce Lewis homered and went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in a loss to the Athletics on Friday.

Advice: Incredible. That’s Lewis’s 10th homer of the season, and it comes in just the 10th game of the season for the 25-year-old. He didn’t pick up any other hits and struck out twice, but it’s hard to care. What Lewis is doing right now is spectacular. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:09 pm
  • Jeimer Candelario (tendinitis) returns to lineup
Jeimer Candelario (tendinitis) returned to the Reds’ starting lineup on Friday night.

Advice: Candelario was pulled from Tuesday’s game due to general fatigue and tendinitis and then sat out Wednesday’s game as a precautionary measure. He’s feeling much improved after a couple of days off though and is back in there as the Reds’ designated hitter on Friday night. He’ll bat third against Kutter Crawford and the Red Sox. • Nolan Jones (illness) returns to lineup on Friday
Nolan Jones (illness) returned to the Rockies’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Nationals.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder missed each of the team’s previous two games due to illness, but he’s right back out there in left field on Friday night. Jones will bat sixth against DJ Herz and the Nationals on Friday evening at Coors Field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:45 pm

  • Sent on rehab assignment
Bart (thumb) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bart will see game action for the first time since being placed on the 10-day IL on May 28, a significant step forward in his recovery from a Grade 1 sprained thumb on his glove hand. Once he's cleared to rejoin the Pirates, Bart should push Jason Delay out of the catching mix. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:06 pm

  • Astros recall OF Joey Loperfido from Triple-A
Astros recalled OF Joey Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land.

Advice: The Astros needed a position player with the amount of injuries they’ve had. Loperfido hit .333 with one home run and five RBI in 39 at-bats in his first taste of the majors earlier this year. The 25-year-old could have fantasy value in mixed leagues if he’s able to stick in the lineup this time around. It’s either said than done, but he’ll have a real chance with José Abreu out of the picture and Kyle Tucker still on the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:02 pm
  • Recalled from Triple-A
The Astros recalled Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday.

Advice: Loperfido has hit .333/.381/.436 with one homer and one steal in 15 games with the Astros, although that's come with a 39.5 percent strikeout rate. All of Loperfido's action in the minors lately has come in the outfield, so that figures to be his best path to playing time right now with the big club. He has also been used some at first base. • Back from illness
Jones (illness) will start in left field and bat sixth in Friday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Jones missed two contests because he was under the weather, but he'll give it a go Friday. The 26-year-old is 5-for-14 with a 2:8 K:BB over six games since returning from the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:43 pm
