  • Garcia hits RBI triple in win over Guardians
    Maikel Garcia went 1-for-4 with a run scored, a triple, and an RBI against the Guardians on Thursday.

    Advice: Garcia tied the game at one with an RBI triple in the sixth inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. Those were the only runs the Royals scored on the night, but it was enough to squeak out a 2-1 victory. Garcia needs to have more of an impact if he’s going to retain his spot atop the Kansas City lineup for the rest of the season. He’s hitting .232 with a .629 OPS on the season.     Correa (wrist) anticipates that he will be in the lineup Friday against the Mariners, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

    Advice: Correa was hit in the wrist by a pitch Thursday in the seventh inning and immediately left the game. X-rays came back clean, and he told reporters after the game that he's confident he'll be in the lineup to start the Twins' series against Seattle on Friday.     Advice: Correa immediately made his way into the Twins' clubhouse after getting hit in the arm by a pitch during the seventh inning, but it appears he managed to escape the incident with minimal damage. The team has officially labeled his injury a right wrist contusion, and he is viewed as day-to-day. It’s still possible he could wind up requiring a trip to the injured list in a few days, if the pain and swelling don’t subside. He immediately left the contest shaking his head and holding that arm in a great deal of pain. The 29-year-old shortstop will head for additional evaluation and X-rays to determine the extent of the damage.
