• Homers, scores three times in win
Valdez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and three runs scored in a 7-3 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Advice: Valdez hit a solo home run off Kevin Gausman in the fourth inning, walked and scored in the sixth then singled and scored in the eighth. Valdez has been hot in June, hitting .341 with 10 extra-base hits and 14 RBI in 44 at-bats. He rarely plays against left-handed pitchers, going 0-for-20 against them on the season, but he is hitting a respectable .252 with six homers and 25 RBI in 115 at-bats against righties. • Isaac Paredes leaves the yard in victory over Twins
Isaac Paredes slugged his 11th home run of the season on Wednesday night, helping to power the Twins past the Rays in extra innings.

Advice: Paredes opened the scoring in the contest with a 359-foot (95.5 mph EV) solo shot off of Joe Ryan that was pulled down the left field line. The 25-year-old slugger also singled and walked in the contest, finishing the night 2-for-3. On the season, he’s slashing a healthy .286/.368/.475 with the aforementioned 11 long balls and 39 RBI. • Spencer Horwitz with two hits out of lead-off spot
Spencer Horwitz went 2-for-4 with a walk on Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: The Blue Jays are giving Horwitz an opportunity at the top of their lineup as he’s hit first or second in all 10 of his starts since being called-up. He’s done well there, too with more walks than strikeouts and a .353/.450/.412 slash line so far. There isn’t much power, but getting on base at the top of any lineup is valuable. • Abraham Toro (shoulder) not in lineup Wednesday
Abraham Toro (shoulder) is not in the Athletics’ starting lineup on Wednesday.

Advice: Toro has apparently been battling a sore shoulder since Sunday’s doubleheader. The Athletics are hopeful that he’ll be able to avoid a stint on the injured list, but if this goes on for another couple of days they may need to change their stance. Tyler Nevin will start in his place at the hot corner and will bat fifth for the A’s against Cole Ragans and the Royals on Wednesday evening. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:15 pm

  • Brandon Drury scratched with illness on Wednesday
Brandon Drury was scratched from the Angels’ starting lineup on Wednesday night due to illness.

Advice: The 31-year-old infielder had just returned from the injured list on Monday, so it’s encouraging to hear that it’s just an illness keeping him out of action and not a recurrence of his hamstring issue. He should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:43 pm

  • Scratched with illness
Drury was scratched from the Angels' lineup ahead of Wednesday's game versus Milwaukee due to an illness, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Drury has gone 1-for-6 with a walk since returning from the injured list Monday, but he'll be sidelined once again Wednesday as he fights off an illness. Luis Guillorme will instead start at the keystone and bat ninth versus right-hander Freddy Peralta. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:38 pm

  • Homers Wednesday
Gorman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Gorman led off the second inning with a 436-foot blast off Yonny Chirinos, cutting St. Louis' deficit to 2-1. It's the first homer in seven games for Gorman, who'd gone just 1-for-28 in that span. Overall, the 24-year-old second baseman is slashing .202/.278/.437 with 16 homers, 34 RBI, 31 runs scored and three steals across 67 games this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:38 pm

  • Brewers option Oliver Dunn to Triple-A Nashville
Brewers optioned INF Oliver Dunn to Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: The 26-year-old infielder has struggled in his time with the Brewers this season, hitting just .221/.282/.216 with one homer, seven RBI, three swipes and a 40/6 K/BB ratio over 104 plate appearances. He’ll see if he can get back track while playing every day at Triple-A. Tyler Black was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:34 pm

  • Brewers recall Tyler Black from Triple-A Nashville
Brewers recalled INF Tyler Black from Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: He’ll take the place of Oliver Dunn on the Brewers’ active roster after Dunn was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. Black has done nothing but hit at the Triple-A level this season, but slashed just .227/.261/.318 with zero homers, zero RBI and two stolen bases in 23 plate appearances with the big-league club his last time up. Let’s hope, for fantasy managers’ sake, that he gets a real opportunity for at-bats this time around. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:32 pm
