• Starting against right-hander again
Taylor will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: The right-handed hitting Taylor has started each of the Mets' first two games in right field since Starling Marte (knee) landed on the 10-day injured list even as the opposition has sent a righty to the bump both times. DJ Stewart will also be in the right field mix while Marte is shelved, but Taylor looks to be the preferred option out there. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

  • Out against righty again
Stewart is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Yankees.

Advice: The Mets have faced two right-handers since Starling Marte (knee) went on the 10-day injured list and the left-handed hitting Stewart hasn't started either one of them, as the club has gone with Tyrone Taylor in right field for both contests. While Stewart does still figure to get his fair share of reps in the outfield while Marte is out, it's clear manager Carlos Mendoza is not planning to use a strict platoon in right field. • Sitting amid slump
Rosario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Rosario typically hits the bench against left-handed pitching, but he'll take a seat Wednesday while a righty (Dylan Cease) toes the rubber for the Padres. Despite seeing limited exposure to same-handed pitching, Rosario has fallen into a slump at the plate lately, going 6-for-41 while failing to draw a walk in any of his last 12 games. The Nationals added another option at designated hitter to the roster Tuesday in Harold Ramirez, who is in the lineup Wednesday and could challenge Rosario for the top spot on the depth chart. • Guardians recall Jhonkensy Noel to make MLB debut
Guardians recalled OF Jhonkensy Noel from Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Noel had an 1.156 OPS for Columbus this month, putting him at .295/.359/.578 with 18 homers for the season. It’s unclear how much of a role the Guardians will carve out for him versus righties, but he should definitely be the right fielder against lefties. He struggled to hit for average in previous years, and he’s a zero when it comes to steals, so he’ll need to keep showing plenty of power in order to be useful in fantasy leagues. • Guardians return Johnathan Rodriguez to Triple-A
Guardians optioned OF Johnathan Rodriguez to Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Jhonkensy Noel has been red hot in Triple-A, so the Guardians are going to give him a chance now, even though they deemed Rodriguez the better option 11 days ago and he’d since reached five times and driven in two runs in his four starts. It’s a tough break for the 24-year-old. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago
  • Summoned to big leagues
The Guardians recalled Noel from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday. He'll start at first base and bat sixth in the Guardians' series finale in Baltimore.

Advice: Noel will hit the big leagues for the first time. The 22-year-old slashed .295/.359/.578 with 18 home runs over 65 games with Columbus this season. Much of that production has come since the start of May, with Noel producing a .343/.404/.651 line with 14 home runs in 43 contests over that stretch. Noel has also struck out at just an 18.1 percent rate since May 1, which is a positive development for a player who has often struggled to make contact during his minor-league career. While he can handle first base and the corner outfield spots in a pinch, Noel's best shot at consistent playing time in Cleveland could come at designated hitter. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

  • Sent down to minors
The Guardians optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Advice: Rodriguez started just three of 10 games during his most recent stint in the big leagues. The 24-year-old will return to Columbus, where he will receive regular reps again. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago
  • Playing time drying up
Pillar will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Pillar had been a near-everyday player for the Angels for nearly five weeks, but he seems to have moved into a fourth-outfielder role. He'll be picking up just his second start since June 17, as he excluded from the lineup in those other six contests. Jo Adell will hit the bench Wednesday to make room in the starting nine for Pillar. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago

  • Out of Boston lineup
Rafaela is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Rafaela has followed a hot stretch with a mini-slump, having picked up only one hit over his previous five contests. Jarren Duran will patrol center field and David Hamilton will occupy shortstop for Boston. Rotowire.com Today, 11:45 am
