    • Leaves early with neck spasms
      Bassitt (5-6) prematurely left Monday's game against the White Sox with neck spasms, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. He allowed five hits and zero walks while striking out seven over five scoreless innings, earning the win.

      Advice: It was reported after the game that Bassitt was questionable to start due to the injury, but he toughed it out and pitched five dominant innings. It is encouraging that the 36-year-old was able to play through the injury, but the severity is still unknown.     • Smacks homer in win
      Adames went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Monday's victory over the Cubs.

      Advice: Adames popped his first home run since May 7 when he crushed a 427-foot, three-run shot off Hayden Wesneski in the eighth inning. The Brewers shortstop hopes the homer turns his month around, as he entered the game slashing .213/.253/.404 over 99 plate appearances in May.     • Abrams hits ninth home run Monday
      CJ Abrams went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly against the Braves on Monday.



      Advice: The Nationals scored four runs in the first inning and Abrams’ solo shot in the second inning made the score 5-0. He hit 18 home runs in 151 games last year and is halfway to that mark in only 49 games so far this season. Fantasy managers didn’t draft Abrams for his power, though. While he stole 47 bases last year, he has just eight steals so far this year.

    • Adames blasts eighth home run Monday
      Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run against the Cubs on Monday.



      Advice: Adames came to the plate with two men on and one out in a 1-0 game in the eighth inning. He blasted a Hayden Wesneski offering to center for a no-doubt home run. The home run was Adames’ eighth of the season and he already has a career-high eight stolen bases.

      Duran picked up the save Monday against Kansas City. He pitched one-third of an inning with no strikeouts, allowing one unearned run on two hits.

      Advice: Duran entered to collect the last out with runners on second and third and a four-run lead. The Twins reliever barely survived as a hit-by-pitch, two hits and a fielding error allowed three runs to cross. However, after all that chaos, Duran promptly retired Bobby Witt via a one-pitch groundout with runners on second and third to walk away victorious.       The Blue Jays said Chris Bassitt was pulled after five innings Monday because of neck spasms.

He generated 11 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 35 percent CSW.       Jhoan Duran notched a one-out save on Monday against the Royals.

      Advice: Technically it’ll go down as the seventh save of the season for Duran as he came on to face MJ Melendez with the potential tying run in the on-deck circle. Things got interesting shortly afterwards as he wound up hitting Melendez with a two-strike pitch before ensuing batter Dairon Blanco followed with a run-scoring single that put the potential tying run on-base. A throwing error by third baseman Willi Castro allowed another run to cross the plate, making it a one-run ballgame in the process, before Duran retired Bobby Witt Jr. on a soft comebacker to end the contest.       Cardinals manager Oli Marmol said Lars Nootbaar is “day-to-day” with a hamstring strain.

      Advice: Marmol said that the team believed that keeping Nootbaar out of the lineup on Sunday and Monday is “the smart thing to do,” but they “don’t see it lingering.” That provides some optimism that Nootbaar could make it back in the middle of this week; however, hamstring injuries are known to linger so fantasy managers in weekly lineup lock leagues could decide to play it safe and sit Nootbaar this week.
