• Jazz Chisholm Jr. swipes base in Yankees debut
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 1-for-5 with a single, stolen base and a run scored in his Yankees debut in Sunday night’s victory over the Red Sox.

Advice: After going hitless in his first four at-bats, the dynamic 26-year-old reached on an infield single off of Cooper Criswell in the ninth inning, advanced to second base on a ground ball, stole third and then scored the game’s final run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of DJ LeMahieu. With his 1-for-5 night, Chisholm is now hitting .248/.322/.404 with 13 homers, 50 RBI and 23 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:12 pm
  • Bound for Triple-A
Suwinski is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Advice: Suwinski returned to the big leagues June 4 after a short stint in Triple-A, but he'll now head back to Indianapolis after producing a .193 average with five home runs, 13 RBI, 13 runs scored and four stolen bases over 109 at-bats in 39 games following his promotion. The outfielder has struggled to limit the strikeouts this season, striking out in 28 percent of his plate appearances entering Sunday's 6-5 win over Arizona in 10 innings. Suwinski struck out in his two at-bats Sunday before being replaced by Michael Taylor. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:28 pm

  • Pirates option Jack Suwinski to Triple-A
Pirates optioned OF Jack Suwinski to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: The 25-year-old outfielder has plenty of power and speed, he just hasn’t been able to hit consistently enough to stick with the Pirates at the major league level. Suwinski was slashing a miserable .182/.264/.324 with nine homers, 26 RBI, nine swipes and a 79/27 K/BB ratio across 277 plate appearances. No word yet on a corresponding move for the Pirates. • Bat stays hot in win
Soler went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Soler posted a trio of three-hit games during this weekend's four-game series versus the Rockies, going 9-for-15 with four RBI and three walks in that span. The slugger has batted .359 (14-for-39) over 11 contests since the All-Star break, though it helps that the Giants have faced the Rockies in seven of those games. For the season, he's up to a .240/.330/.419 slash line through 93 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:44 pm

  • Bogaerts homers in loss
Xander Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: Bogey has been on fire since coming off the IL, but this is his first home run since fracturing his shoulder, which is good to see. He didn’t get cheated either with a 400-foot shot that left the bat at 106.2 mph. He still has yet to steal a base since coming back from his injury and that was a huge part of his fantasy success last year, so managers should keep an eye on that going forward. • Jazz Chisholm Jr. will see action at third base
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone confirmed Sunday that Jazz Chisholm Jr. will see action at third base.

Advice: With Giancarlo Stanton nearing a return to the Bombers’ lineup, their outfield mix is pretty crowded, so the Yankees are looking for creative ways to get all of their big bats in the lineup at the same time. It wasn’t long ago that Chisholm was a regular second baseman for the Marlins, so covering third base shouldn’t be terribly difficult for him. It’ll certainly enhance his fantasy value once he gains eligibility at the hot corner. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:16 pm
  • Expected to see use at third base
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Chisholm will be deployed at third base on the occasions he's needed to play the infield, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Advice: The Yankees acquired Chisholm from the Marlins on Saturday after he spent the first four-plus years of his major-league career in Miami. Chisholm will make his team debut Sunday in Boston, starting in center field and batting fifth. Though Chisholm has seen the majority of his starts in the outfield this season, his path to playing time in the outfield could become murkier when Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) returns from the injured list Monday. While Chisholm's prior professional experience in the infield has come at second base and shortstop, Boone and the Yankees' brain trust are apparently confident that the 26-year-old possesses the arm strength and athleticism to step in capably at third base. Assuming Chisholm is able to hold his own defensively at the hot corner, he could end up settling into a regular role at the position, given that the Yankees have gotten little production from third baseman DJ LeMahieu and Oswaldo Cabrera this season. Chisholm, meanwhile, turned in a .249/.323/.407 slash line with 13 home runs and 22 stolen bases over 101 games with the Marlins prior to being traded. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:11 pm
  • Jazz Chisholm Jr. batting fifth in Yankees’ debut
Jazz Chisholm Jr. will start in center field and bat fifth as he makes his Yankees’ debut on Sunday night against the Red Sox.

Advice: The 26-year-old superstar had spent most of his time with the Marlins as their leadoff hitter, but it sounds like the Yankees view him as more of a run producer and have installed him in the fifth spot in their lineup for Sunday night’s debut against Tanner Houck and the Red Sox. The upgrade in ballpark and surrounding cast should do wonders for Chisholm’s fantasy value for the remainder of the 2024 season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm
  • Pete Alonso hits late two-run home run
Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 with a double and two-run homer on Sunday against the Braves.

Advice: The Mets’ offense had been silenced over their last two games before Alonso smacked his 18th long ball to mercifully break what would’ve been their second consecutive shutout. He’s begun to heat up with five extra-base hits in his last six games after what was a miserable six week stretch through June and July. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:34 pm
