• Ober carves up Tigers on Sunday
Bailey Ober threw eight shutout innings in a win over the Tigers on Sunday, allowing one hit and striking out 11.

Advice: Ober was masterful, getting 20 whiffs on 50 swings for a 40 percent whiff rate and 36 percent CSW. He allowed an average exit velocity of 84.2 mph and will now take a 3.76 ERA into an equally appealing start against the White Sox next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:04 pm

  • Brent Rooker plates three runs in loss to Angels
Brent Rooker went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Sunday as the Athletics fell to the Angels.

Advice: Rooker smacked a three-run double off of Jose Soriano in the third inning that extended the A’s early lead to 4-0. It would be short-lived though. The 29-year-old slugger continues to perform as one of the top all-around hitters in baseball this season, slashing .296/.370/.587 with 25 homers, 75 RBI and seven stolen bases. • Homers in back-to-back games
Olsen went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Olson's fourth-inning blast was his 15th of the season and plated three. After going nearly three weeks without a homer, Olson went deep Sunday for the second consecutive day. He now holds a modest five-game hitting streak, batting 7-for-20 (.350) during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:24 pm

  • Dominates Tigers
Ober (10-5) earned the win Sunday, allowing one hit and two walks over eight scoreless innings against the Tigers. He struck out 11.

Advice: Ober was at his best Sunday, allowing merely two walks and a leadoff single to Matt Vierling in the fourth while blanking the Tigers through eight. It was the seventh consecutive quality start for Ober, who was able to complete eight innings for the second time this season. The 6-foot-9 righty lowered his season ERA to 3.76 with the outing and has performed at a Cy Young-caliber level during this most recent seven-game stretch, going 5-1 while holding a 1.86 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 56 strikeouts over 48.1 innings. Ober is slated to make his next start against the White Sox, ironically the only team to place a blemish against his record during his current hot streak. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:14 pm

  • Taking seat Sunday
Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Marte will receive Sunday off after a string of 10 straight starts, a stretch in which he posted a .405/.478/.838 slash line with five home runs and 16 RBI. Kevin Newman will receive a look at the keystone in the series finale versus Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:04 pm

  • Avoids concussion
Miranda cleared the preliminary concussion protocol and was diagnosed with a head contusion after being hit by a pitch Sunday against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Miranda was struck in the head by a fastball during the opening inning, and the pitch appeared to hit the ear flap of his helmet. The 26-year-old should be considered day-to-day as he continues to be evaluated, but avoiding a concussion on the initial diagnosis is certainly an encouraging sign for his outlook. • Hunter Greene shuts down Rays for seven innings
Hunter Greene blanked the Rays for seven innings and struck out five in a no-decision on Sunday.

Advice: Greene allowed only two hits and one walk before departing with a 1-0 lead that was quickly lost in the eighth. Currently throwing as well as anyone in the league, he’s allowed a total of one run in four starts this month, and his season ERA is all of the way down to 2.97. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:54 am

  • Jose Miranda passes concussion protocol after exit
Jose Miranda left Sunday’s game against the Tigers due to a head contusion.

Advice: The bad news is Miranda was unable to continue after being drilled in the head by a pitch from Alex Faedo. The good news is that Miranda has already passed the concussion protocol. For now, the 26-year-old infielder should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:46 am

  • Seven shutout innings
Greene threw seven scoreless innings in Sunday's loss to the Rays, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out five. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Greene stifled the Rays, carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning before a Brandon Lowe single ended the bid. The 24-year-old Greene has now fired seven scoreless innings in back-to-back starts, allowing just two hits in each of those outings. The hard-throwing righty also notched his fourth consecutive quality start Sunday, pitching to a 0.33 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB in 27 innings during that stretch. Greene will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend versus the Giants. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:44 am
