• Resting against southpaw
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: After starting against right-handed pitchers in each of the past three games, O'Hearn will head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Shota Imanaga takes the hill for the Cubs. With O'Hearn receiving the day off, Adley Rutschman will cede catching duties to James McCann and occupy O'Hearn's usual spot in the lineup at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 12:28 pm

  • Racks up career-high 11 Ks
Bello (9-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 12-9 victory over the A's, giving up five runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out a career-high 11.

Advice: The right-hander's line was looking much better through five innings, but Lawrence Butler helped chase Bello from the game in the sixth with a three-run homer. The 11 strikeouts topped his previous career high of 10, set Sept. 15, 2023 against the Blue Jays. Despite the surge in Ks, Bello has been tagged for four or more runs in five of seven trips to the mound since the beginning of June, stumbling to a 7.00 ERA. 1.89 WHIP and 38:17 K:BB in 36 innings over that stretch. He lines up for one more outing before the All-Star break in a home series against the Royals this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 7:09 am
  • Picks up easy win
Gilbert (6-5) got the win Tuesday over the Padres, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over 7.2 innings.

Advice: All three runs against Gilbert came at the tail end of his outing. He allowed a solo home run to Jake Cronenworth in the seventh, and Kyle Higashioka added on with a two-run blast in the eighth to force Gilbert's exit from the game. Tuesday was just the third time this year he's allowed multiple home runs in a start, but also was the first time this season he's picked up a win while allowing more than one run. The 27-year-old recently was named an All-Star for the first time in his four-year career, and rightfully so, as he sports a 2.94 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 115:25 K:BB in 125.1 innings so far. He lines up for a Sunday start against the Angels this weekend before the league heads into the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 6:01 am

  • Logan Gilbert pitches into eighth in victory
Logan Gilbert allowed three runs in 7 2/3 innings in defeating the Padres on Tuesday.

Advice: Gilbert looked far too good tonight to actually have his ERA increase, but that’s what happened after he gave up a solo homer to Jake Cronenworth in the seventh and a two-run shot to Kyle Higashioka with two outs in the eighth. On the plus side, it’s the first time this year that he’s allowed more than one run and notched a win. Apart from the homers, he gave up just two other hits in the contest, walked one and struck out seven in moving to 6-5 with a 2.94 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:06 pm

  • Colt Keith stays hot with home run
Colt Keith went 2-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBI, and a home run in a loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Keith had a 101.4 mph single while his home run was just a 362-foot shot at 94.5 mph off the bat that had an xBA of .170 and would have only been a home run in 17 parks. Still, it counts the same and was the rookie’s eighth of the season and his fourth in his last seven games. Over those seven games, he’s hitting .423 with those four home runs, six RBI, and one steal. Since May 1st, he also ranks first in batting average, second in slugging, and second in OPS among second basemen with at least 100 plate appearances. He needs to be rostered in all formats right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:34 pm

  • Zack Gelof with three hits, homer in loss
Zack Gelof went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and four RBI on Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Down big early, the A’s chipped away until Gelof’s ninth inning homer cut a lead that was once nine runs to just three. He needed a game like this too as it’s been a brutal season for Gelof. The home run was nice to see, as were the two balls in play hit harder than 106 MPH. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:31 pm

  • Brayan Bello strikes out 11 in win
Brayan Bello allowed nine hits and five earned runs in 5 2/3 innings on Tuesday against the Athletics. He struck out a career-best 11 and walked two.

Advice: There was a lot of good and a lot of bad with Bello here. The good: he struck out more batters than he ever has in a single start while matching career-bests in swings-and-misses with both his slider and his changeup. Now the bad: Bello was granted an 11-2 lead after the second inning and still couldn’t work his way through the sixth inning with his huge cushion. Bello perpetually takes three steps forwards and then two steps back. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:29 pm
  • Goes deep again Tuesday
Keith 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 9-8, 10-inning loss to the Guardians.

Advice: It's hard to believe that Keith was batting just .154 with no home runs at the end of April, as the rookie has turned it on since then. In 55 games from May onward, Keith is batting .294 with eight long balls and 27 RBI, and he has four homers and seven RBI over the last six contests alone. The 22-year-old was a high-upside prospect in the minors and he's starting to deliver on that promise in the majors, much to the delight of fantasy managers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:22 pm

  • Yordan Alvarez back in lineup Tuesday vs. Marlins
Yordan Alvarez (knee) has returned to the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Marlins.

Advice: Alvarez is back at designated hitter and batting third for Tuesday’s series opener against the Marlins following a brief one-game absence due to a right knee contusion stemming from a hit by pitch over the weekend against the Twins. It’s a welcome sign for fantasy managers as it seems to signal that the 27-year-old fantasy superstar is going to be able to play through the ailment until next week’s Midsummer Classic.
