    • Chased early in loss
Crochet (6-8) yielded five runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk over three innings Sunday, striking out three and taking a loss against Seattle.

Advice: Crochet served up a two-run homer to Cal Raleigh in the first inning and never found his groove. Crochet was handed his second straight loss and has not earned a win since June 7. While he's reportedly still expected to receive a "normal workload," he's totaled just 13 innings through four starts this month. During that stretch, he's produced a 4.85 ERA while averaging just under 65 pitches per start. Crochet owns a 3.23 ERA with a terrific 160:26 K:BB through 114.1 innings this season. He's tentatively lined up to start in Minnesota next weekend, though the upcoming trade deadline could change those plans. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:35 pm

    • Padres have talked to Tigers about Jack Flaherty
Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports that the Padres have had discussions with the Tigers about right-hander Jack Flaherty.

Advice: Flaherty, 28, is in the midst of an amazing resurgence with the Tigers this season and looks increasingly likely to be dealt prior to the trade deadline as he’ll be a free agent at season’s end. With many teams interested, the Tigers should be able to demand a king’s ransom for their prized right-hander. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:36 pm

    • Dodgers among teams interested in Tommy Edman
Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Dodgers are among the teams interested in acquiring Tommy Edman from the Cardinals.

Advice: The versatile 29-year-old has yet to make his 2024 season debut due to a wide array of injuries, but that hasn’t stopped teams from inquiring on his availability. Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire, so expect interest in Edman to heat up in the coming days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:13 pm

    • Swipes 20th bag
Kim went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base, a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Kim did a little bit of everything in this one, reaching base three times and collecting his 20th stolen base of the season. The 28-year-old has played well since the All-Star break, but he has not homered since June 22 while notching just four thefts in that span. Kim is batting .232 with 10 home runs, 44 RBI, 55 runs scored and 20 stolen bases in 106 games played. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:34 pm

    • Garrett Crochet pulled after three innings
Garrett Crochet surrendered six hits and five runs, three earned, in three innings against the Mariners on Sunday. He struck out three and walked one in a loss.

Advice: Crochet did not seem like himself in this one. The Mariners tacked on runs in each of the first two innings and an error by Paul DeJong put two more on the board in the third. He has not pitched past the fourth inning since June 30th and likely will not have the same workload he had early for the rest of the season unless he’s traded and signed to an extension, per his agent. • Swipes four bags
De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: De La Cruz did all he could for the Reds in the 2-1 loss, logging three of the team's six hits and recording four thefts in a game for the second time this season. The 22-year-old is up to a league-leading 55 steals, a whopping 24 ahead of runner-up Brice Turang. De La Cruz now owns a .263 average with 18 home runs, 45 RBI, 70 runs scored and 55 stolen bases in 64 attempts (86 percent) across 104 games played. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:21 pm

    • Picks up save No. 20
Fairbanks notched his 20th save of the season Sunday against the Reds, allowing one hit while striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Fairbanks has converted his last 10 save opportunities and is now 20-for-22 on the season. Since his last blown save June 20, the 30-year-old has pitched to a 2.25 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB in 12 innings. With fellow reliever Jason Adam being traded to the Padres, Fairbanks should see the vast majority of save chances for the Rays moving forward. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:57 am
    • Pete Fairbanks earns 20th save for Rays
Pete Fairbanks pitched a scoreless ninth Sunday against the Reds for his 20th save.

Advice: It might be his last for Tampa Bay, unless the team decides it needs him back for 2025, which would be his walk year. He’ll definitely draw a nice return; health has long been an issue for him and his velocity is down a bit this year, but he remains one of the game’s most talented relievers. • Elly De La Cruz swipes four bases in loss
Elly De La Cruz went 3-for-4 and stole four bases in the loss to the Rays on Sunday.

Advice: De La Cruz was the only one of the Reds’ top five hitters to get on base today, so he went without a run scored or an RBI in the 2-1 loss. Still, four steals made it a killer day for fantasy anyway. It’s the fourth four-steal game by a player this season, and he already had one of the first three. He’s 55-for-64 on the year.
