The Tigers reinstated Miller (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Miller has been sidelined since May 13 due to right ulnar nerve inflammation in his right elbow. He threw 2.1 scoreless frames while striking out three batters and walking one during his two-game rehab assignment, though the 33-year-old right-hander has not been nearly as effective this season as he was in 2023, posting a 4.41 ERA through 16.1 innings. Mason Englert was optioned to Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago
    • On bench again
Tauchman is not in the Cubs' lineup Tuesday versus the White Sox.

Advice: Tauchman is not in the starting lineup for the second consecutive game. He began the June 2 game against the Reds on the bench, but did come to the plate later in the game. Prior to the two absences from the lineup, the 33-year-old had started in five straight games. Tuesday's lineup has Seiya Suzuki as the DH, Cody Bellinger in right and Michael Busch at first. • Optioned to Toledo
The Tigers optioned Englert to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Advice: Englert has given up three earned runs in six innings since coming up from Triple-A in late May, but he will now return to Toledo in order to make room for Shelby Miller (elbow), who was activated from the IL on Tuesday. Englert owns an impressive 2.35 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 23 innings with the Mud Hens, and he could be the first choice to return to Detroit if the Tigers run into further depth problems in their bullpen. • Jakb Junis starting rehab assignment on Tuesday
Jakob Junis (shoulder, head) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Junis is going to need at least a handful of rehab outings to build up his stamina and pitch count, but he should be an option for the Brewers as extra starting pitching depth in a couple weeks. The 31-year-old suffered a head injury when he was hit by a ball during batting practice back in late April while on the injured list recovering from a shoulder impingement. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Beginning rehab outings
Junis (shoulder/head) is beginning his minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday night in Triple-A Nashville, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Reports.

Advice: Junis was cleared for his rehab assignment Monday, but it is now clear that the assignment is starting Tuesday. The righty has been out since early April due to a right shoulder impingement as well as a head injury that later occurred in batting practice. He will need several outings to build himself back up. • Astros recall Trey Cabbage on Tuesday
Astros recalled OF Trey Cabbage from Triple-A Sugar Land.

Advice: Cabbage provides Houston with a little more of an offensive threat off the bench than Grae Kessinger and also represents extra outfield insurance with Kyle Tucker dealing with a shin contusion. The 27-year-old has omnipresent contact issues, but he certainly can do some damage when he connects. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Astros option Grae Kessinger to Triple-A
Astros optioned INF Grae Kessinger to Triple-A Sugar Land.

Advice: Kessinger has played sparingly this season for Houston in a bench role, going 0-for-11 with five strikeouts in 11 contests. The 26-year-old heads back to the minors with Trey Cabbage coming back up to the big leagues. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

    • Throws bullpen session
Diaz (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Diaz threw 21 pitches during his mound session, and manager Carlos Mendoza said afterward that there is a good chance the 30-year-old reliever begins a rehab assignment in the minors Thursday. It's unclear how many minor-league reps the Mets will give their star closer, but the fact Diaz is already able to begin an assignment likely signals that he will only require a minimum-length stint on the IL. • Kris Bryant remains out Tuesday with rib soreness
Kris Bryant (rib) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Bryant will sit out his second consecutive contest due to lingering rib soreness stemming from a twisting catch during the club’s previous series against the Dodgers. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
