    Advice: Getting the start in right field and batting seventh, the 28-year-old took Nick Nastrini deep in the fifth inning for Boston's only offense, and Dalbec's first long ball in the majors this season. He's flashed plenty of power in the minors -- in his last 140 games for Triple-A Worcester, he's slugged 41 homers -- but that hasn't yet translated to the game's highest level with any consistency. He'll lose playing time, and likely his spot on the 26-man roster, when players like Tyler O'Neill (knee), Wilyer Abreu (ankle) and Masataka Yoshida (thumb) are back in action, as Dalbec's .159/.243/.238 slash line in 28 games for the Red Sox makes a poor case to keep him around.     Advice: Dalbec’s home run was his first since last September. He hit 25 home runs in 133 games in 2021, but has had a rough go of it ever since while splitting time between MLB and Triple-A. Last year, Dalbec played first base, second base, third base and shortstop for Boston. He was in right field for the Red Sox on Saturday afternoon with Tyler O’Neill out. Dalbec’s hitting .159 in 28 games this year, though he’s reached base safely in eight of his last nine starts.   • Swipes fourth bag
    Hayes went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Twins.

    Advice: The third baseman is up to four steals on the season, and all of them have come in his last eight games. Hayes is also batting .323 (10-for-31) over that stretch with a homer, four RBI and six runs, and he seems fully recovered from the back issues that cost him most of May and which may have contributed to his .239/.317/.318 slash line in April.     Rafael Devers was removed from Saturday’s battle against the White Sox due to soreness in his knee.

    Advice: Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora told reporters after the game that, “His knee is bothering him.... hopefully it’s nothing worse than a little bit of soreness.” Devers said after the game that he won’t play on Sunday, but is hoping to return to action on Tuesday.   • Diaz has two-hit game Saturday
    Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 against the Orioles on Saturday.

    Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Rays as they were shutout. Diaz had the only two hits for Tampa Bay. After winning the batting title in the American League last year, he’s hitting just .245 so far this season. Diaz’ .273 BABIP this year is well below his .320 career BABIP.
