    • Jesse Winker sits on Tuesday against southpaw
Jesse Winker is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: It seems like a matchup-driven decision with lefty Sean Manaea toeing the rubber for New York, but it’s worth noting that Winker has missed a pair of contests since suffering a knee contusion last Friday. He’s probably fine, but it’s something fantasy managers should keep an eye on as the week progresses. Rotoworld 47 minutes ago

    • Re-evaluated in 1-to-2 weeks
Weathers (finger) will be re-evaluated in 1-to-2 weeks in hopes of being cleared to begin a throwing program at that time, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Weathers has already been shut down for nearly a month with a left index finger strain and still isn't ready to throw yet. Given how much time he's missed, it's going to take him a while to get sufficiently built back up before rejoining the Marlins' rotation. A return would appear to be several weeks away. • Ryan Weathers (finger) to be re-evaluated soon
Ryan Weathers (finger) will be re-evaluated in 1-2 weeks.

Advice: Weathers landed on the injured list back in early June with a left index finger sprain and has yet to resume throwing. The 24-year-old southpaw will require an extended rehab assignment once he ramps up his throwing program, so it’s probably unrealistic for fantasy managers to expect him back until sometime in mid-to-late August, even in a best-case scenario. • Absent from lineup
Winker is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Winker will dodge a matchup with southpaw Sean Manaea on Tuesday. Harold Ramirez will bat third and DH. Rotowire.com Today, 12:55 pm

    • Out of Minnesota lineup
Kepler is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Tigers.

Advice: It's tough left-hander Tarik Skubal on the hill for Detroit, so the left-handed hitting Kepler will begin this one on the bench. Manuel Margot is in right field and also hitting leadoff for the Twins. Rotowire.com Today, 11:44 am

    • Starts rehab assignment
Campusano (thumb) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his first rehab game with Single-A Lake Elsinore on Monday.

Advice: Campusano has missed just over a week of action with a thumb injury, so he shouldn't need too many rehab at-bats before being activated. Kyle Higashioka is coming off an eight-homer June, so it's possible Campusano -- who has just a .588 OPS since May 1 -- will play second fiddle at catcher for the Padres upon his activation. • Cracks 17th homer in win
Alvarez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Monday's 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The Houston designated hitter provided two insurance runs by launching a 397-foot homer off Zach Pop in the ninth inning to extend the Astros' lead to 3-0. Alvarez has opened July nicely on the tails of a scorching June in which he hit .349 (30-for-86) with seven homers, 19 RBI and 20 runs scored. The 27-year-old's been the heart and soul of the Houston lineup this season, as expected, slashing .294/.372/.528 in 352 total plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:33 pm

    • Jeremy Peña snaps homerless drought
After being stuck on five for six weeks, Jeremy Peña finally hit his sixth homer Monday in the win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Peña seems to have things turned around now after a month-long slump; he’s 9-for-29 with five extra-base hits, eight RBI and a 2/4 K/BB in his last eight games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Daulton Varsho goes hitless versus Astros
Daulton Varsho went hitless in a seventh consecutive start Monday, finishing 0-for-3 with a walk against the Astros.

Advice: Varsho did get a hit off the bench Saturday, but he’s 1-for-28 with 13 strikeouts since June 19, dropping his average to .197. There’s too much homer and steal potential here to make Varsho droppable in fantasy leagues, but it’s tempting. Of course, he’s especially valuable in 6x6 leagues that include 280-foot flyouts as a category. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm
