      Merrill went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: This was Merrill's first steal since May 14. Over the 20 contests between thefts, he hit a meager .224 (15-for-67) with no walks and just one extra-base hit. The 21-year-old is still at a respectable .268/.303/.344 slash line with three home runs, 22 RBI, 24 runs scored and eight steals over 63 contests this year. Merrill has been benched against some left-handed pitchers recently, but he should have no trouble maintaining a majority of the playing time in center field over Jose Azocar.       Blackmon went 2-for-4 with a stolen base Friday against the Cardinals.

      Advice: Blackmon has had a nice start to the Rockies' current road trip, going 3-for-7 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in two games. After attempting only one steal through May 12, he has three steals on four chances in his last 19 contests. Despite some surprising aggressiveness on the basepaths, Blackmon has disappointed with the bat by maintaining just a .127 ISO and .697 OPS in 209 plate appearances.       Logan Webb pitched the Giants past the Rangers with seven innings of two-run ball on Friday.

      Advice: Webb’s peripherals aren’t up to par, but tonight will help. He struck out six while walking none, and all five hits he allowed should have been singles (Wyatt Langford turned one into a double with his speed).       Advice: Webb kept Texas off the board for four frames before the Rangers plated two runs in the fifth inning. Outside of that inning, he allowed just one baserunner. Webb threw seven innings in his last outing but saw his streak of four straight quality starts come to an end. With Friday's quality start in the books, he has 10 in his 14 appearances this season.       Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after Friday’s extra-innings loss to the Dodgers that Juan Soto (forearm) wasn’t available.

      Advice: Soto left Thursday’s game with inflammation in his forearm, and there was some speculation that the outfielder could be available off the bench for Friday’s contest. Several possibilities passed where Soto could have entered, but Boone kept the outfielder on the bench.       Allen allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over six frames in a no-decision Friday. He struck out three during the loss to Miami.

      Advice: Allen served up back-to-back solo homers to Bryan De La Cruz and Josh Bell in the third inning but otherwise kept Miami's offense fairly quiet. It was a needed bounce-back after Allen was tagged with seven runs through 1.2 innings in his last appearance. He posted a 6.26 ERA in six May starts despite two of them being scoreless outings.       Advice: Allen bounced back after getting lit up by the Rockies last time out.       Alexis Díaz recorded his 13th save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Cubs.

      Advice: After getting two well-hit lineouts to start the ninth, Díaz walked a batter and allowed an RBI double. He then struck out Patrick Wisdom to end the game with a 3-2 score.
