    • Kody Clemens (back) scratched from lineup Sunday
Kody Clemens was scratched from the Phillies’ starting lineup for Sunday night’s battle against the Cardinals due to back spasms.

Advice: Whit Merrifield will replace Clemens at second base against right-hander Lance Lynn and the Cardinals. Clemens should be considered day-to-day and is likely to return to the Phillies’ starting lineup early next week. Rotoworld Today, 2:49 pm

    • Nelson Velázquez delivers clutch game-tying hit
Nelson Velázquez had a pinch-hit two-RBI triple to tie the game in the 9th inning in a 4-3 win over the Padres on Sunday.

Advice: Velázquez didn’t start the game, but he was brought on to face left-hander Yuki Matsui in the ninth inning and drilled a 109 mph triple off the center field wall to tie the game. It was a ball that could have left the yard in 18 of 30 MLB stadiums and continued Velázquez’s trend of only getting hits in big situations. In his last 11 games, Velázquez has gone 8-for-43 but five of those hits have been home runs and two others have driven in runs. The slugger is hitting just .219 on the season, which will dampen his fantasy value, but the power is for real. Rotoworld Today, 2:46 pm
    • Dominic Fletcher suffers shoulder injury Sunday
Dominic Fletcher was removed from Sunday’s game against the Brewers after banging his shoulder into the left field wall to steal a three-run homer from William Contreras.

Advice: Fletcher told the coaching staff that he’d have trouble throwing the ball, which is why the decision was made to pull him. White Sox’ skipper Pedro Grifol told reporters after the game that Fletcher will be re-evaluated on Monday. For now, he should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Today, 2:43 pm
    • Alex Cobb (shoulder) nearing bullpen session
Alex Cobb (shoulder) has reportedly had a breakthrough with the nerve issue he has been battling, as he’s now pain-free and close to throwing a bullpen session.

Advice: The 36-year-old hurler is expected to throw a bullpen session during the team’s next homestand with an eye on potentially rejoining the Giants’ rotation at some point in July. He’s already had plenty of setbacks this season, but Cobb seems cautiously optimistic that he’s on the road to recovery this time. Rotoworld Today, 2:35 pm

    • Clear of shoulder pain
Cobb (hip/shoulder) said Sunday he's no longer feeling pain in his right shoulder and is "cautiously optimistic" he can throw a bullpen session during the Giants' next homestand, which begins June 10, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The veteran right-hander received a cortisone injection for his shoulder in mid-May, but what actually helped him turn a corner with his nerve discomfort was taking a nerve medication. Cobb will need significant time to build up his throwing program, and he shouldn't be expected to make his season debut until sometime in July, at least. Rotowire.com Today, 2:24 pm

    • Homers, doubles in game-winner
Miranda went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: Miranda collected his 10th multi-hit game of the season, homering in the sixth to knot the game at three, then adding a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth that served as the game-winner for the Twins. After struggling to a .211 average in 40 games last season, Miranda has fared much better this season, posting a slash line of .280/.311/.469 with six homers, nine doubles, 20 RBI and 19 runs through 151 plate appearances. • Quinn Priester hit hard, loses again
Quinn Priester allowed four earned runs in 4 ⅔ innings on Sunday against the Blue Jays. He struck out three and surrendered eight hits in a loss.

Advice: Nothing Priester did fooled the Blue Jays in this one as they had 12 hard-hit balls and were on everything. Priester is yet to be effective as a major league pitcher and will need to find some way to complement his fantastic slider in order to do so. The loss was his fifth of the season without a win. • Casey Mize walks four in four innings
Casey Mize surrendered three runs — two earned — and walked four in four innings Sunday against the Red Sox.

Advice: This really should have been worse, but the Red Sox went 0-for-2 stealing bases to help Mize out. It’s the third straight start in which Mize has failed to complete five innings, and his ERA sits at 4.70 after 11 starts. The Tigers aren’t going to remain patient for much longer. • Leaves Sunday's game
Isbel was removed from Sunday's win against the Padres with a non-concussive head/neck injury.

Advice: The 27-year-old took a knee to the head as he collided with shortstop Bobby Witt in the outfield, per Anne Rogers of MLB.com, and Isbel exited in the sixth inning after initially staying in the contest. He'll have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm
