    • Takes hard-luck loss
Ryan (4-5) was stuck with the loss Friday against the Pirates, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Ryan was excellent Friday, holding Pittsburgh to just two runs over seven innings. However, the Twins couldn't muster anything against Mitch Keller in an eventual 3-0 defeat. Despite the loss, it was a strong bounce-back effort from Ryan after he allowed five runs in five innings in a loss to Houston in his last outing. The right-hander now sports a 3.30 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP and 85:13 K:BB across 79 innings. Ryan's currently in line for a home matchup with the Rockies in his next start. • Hit hard Friday
Pfaadt (2-5) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Even in pitcher-friendly Petco Park, Pfaadt was tagged for a season-high three home runs. He gave up back-to-back solo shots to Fernando Tatis and Jurickson Profar in the first inning and also yielded a two-run blast to Ha-Seong Kim in the sixth. This was the third start in a row where Pfaadt has given up four or more runs. He's now at a 4.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 76:15 K:BB through 78.1 innings across 13 starts. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Angels. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:46 pm
    • Blows save, takes loss
Stanek (3-1) blew the save and took the loss Friday against the Royals. He allowed three runs on two hits and three walks over two-thirds of an inning with no strikeouts.

Advice: Stanek entered the ninth with a two-run lead in place of Andres Munoz (back) and melted down in epic fashion. The 32-year-old righty struggled with his command, issuing three walks in an appearance for the first time this season en route to his second blown save. With the three-run outing, his ERA and WHIP rose to 4.56 and 1.35, respectively. Despite the ugly evening, Stanek is likely still in-line for Seattle saves provided that Munoz is unavailable. • Yordan Alvarez knocks in three in Astros’ win
Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a three-run double and a walk versus the Angels in Friday’s win.

Advice: Alvarez is 10-for-23 with three homers and nine RBI in six games this month, raising his OPS from .792 to .851. It’d be a big surprise if he’s not one of the AL’s best hitters the rest of the way. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:06 pm

    • Ryne Stanek blows save, allows three runs
Ryne Stanek allowed three runs and blew a save while picking up a loss Friday to the Royals.

Advice: Stanek was handed a 9-7 lead in the ninth. It didn’t work out. The right-hander got another save chance with Andres Munoz (back) not available again, and he didn’t make the most of it. Stanek could be inline for save chances as long as Munoz is unavailable, but this is a very flawed — to put it mildly — fantasy option. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:09 pm

    • Correa has two more hits Friday
Carlos Correa went 2-for-3 against the Pirates on Friday.

Advice: It was a quiet night for the Twins offense as they were shutout by Mitch Keller and the Pittsburgh bullpen. Correa added two more hits to his ledger. He also hit second in the order, which is the spot ahead of Royce Lewis. Correa is no longer a star or even an All-Star, but he’s quietly having a nice season as long as he can continue to stay healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:22 pm

    • Bednar picks up 13th save Friday
David Bednar tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The save was Bednar’s 13th of the season. He blew three of his first four save opportunities this season, but since then he’s converted on 12 consecutive save chances. After a rough beginning to the season, he looks like one of the more reliable closers in the league. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:10 pm

    • Ryan allows two runs in loss Friday
Joe Ryan allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Pirates on Friday night.

Advice: Ryan gave up two hits, walked two and struck out eight. The runs against Ryan came on an Oneil Cruz solo home run and a sacrifice fly by Nick Gonzales. He pitched well but didn’t get any run support from the Twins lineup. Ryan had won three of his last five previous starts. His ERA is now 3.30 on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies at home next week.

    • Throwing off flat ground
Snell (groin) began throwing off flat ground Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Assuming Snell has no issues with flat-ground throwing, the plan is for him to begin mound work at some point next week. It's still unclear if the 31-year-old southpaw will be able to return from the IL when eligible June 18, but some clarity may come once he's thrown a few bullpen sessions.
