    • Secures first career win
Miller (1-0) struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the win Friday over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The win was Miller's first in the majors, which came in his 32nd career appearance. He kept the game tied at 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning before JJ Bleday swatted a walk-off solo home run in the Athletics' half of the frame. While Miller's been scored on in three of his last six outings, he's still sporting a 2.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 54:11 K:BB through 28.2 innings this season. He's also gone 12-for-13 in save chances for a team that hasn't had a ton of leads to protect. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:34 pm

    • Cody Poteet lifted from scoreless game in fifth
Cody Poteet blanked the Dodgers for 4 2/3 innings before being lifted Friday.

Advice: It was a scoreless game when Poteet exited, so the quick hook didn’t cost him a win. Poteet is 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA in three starts this season. His stint in the rotation might only last until Gerrit Cole returns, but he’s been a pretty great stopgap so far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:55 pm

    • Anthony Rizzo goes 0-for-5 in loss to Dodgers
Anthony Rizzo popped out with the tying run on base to conclude a Yankees loss and an 0-for-5 game against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: The Yankees might want to give one of their outfielders a crash course at first base with Rizzo showing no sign of turning things around and Jasson Domínguez making strides in his return from Tommy John. Rizzo has opened June 1-for-25, putting him at .228/.289/.344 for the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:55 pm

    • Getting second start
Poteet is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Dodgers at Yankee Stadium.

Advice: The right-hander will be making his third start of the season for the Yankees and his second straight turn through the rotation. He struck out six over five innings while allowing three runs (two earned) in a winning effort against the Giants last Saturday following his call-up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Unless the Yankees get hit by another injury in their rotation, Poteet's stay in the majors will likely come to an end once Gerrit Cole (elbow) makes his expected return from the 60-day injured list later this month. • Early exit not related to Soto
Dominguez (elbow) exited in the eighth inning of Thursday's rehab game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but the departure was unrelated to the injury sustained by Juan Soto (forearm), Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Dominguez's removal was planned, as he has yet to play a full game on his rehab assignment as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. Of course, it's still possible Dominguez could replace Soto on the big-league roster should the latter miss time. Soto is set to undergo imaging on his left forearm Friday, and the results will dictate how the Yankees proceed. Dominguez is slashing .339/.397/.581 with four home runs over 68 plate appearances covering 17 rehab contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:34 am

    • Logs steal in three-hit game
Tatis went 3-for-5 with a double, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tatis has racked up nine hits over his last three games and is batting .449 (22-for-49) during his 12-game hitting streak. In addition to the hot bat, Tatis took advantage of getting on base Thursday by picking up his first steal since May 7. The outfielder is up to a .283/.356/.450 slash line with seven thefts, 10 home runs, 32 RBI and 41 runs scored through 66 contests this season, and he's been one of baseball's hottest hitters so far in June. • Takes second loss
Assad (4-2) allowed five runs on seven hits across 5.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Reds. He walked two and struck out seven.

Advice: Assad flashed his skill with the seven strikeouts, which tied for his second most in a game this year, but he was ultimately done in by a three-run Elly De La Cruz home run in the third inning. The righty still has a solid 2.74 ERA and 68 strikeouts across 69 innings this season, as he's performed well in his first extended run as a full-time starter for the Cubs. Assad will attempt to bounce back in his next scheduled start, which tentatively lines up for next week against the Rays on the road. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:34 pm

    • Assad allows five in loss to Reds Thursday
Javier Assad allowed five runs in 5 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Assad gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out seven. He was replaced by Luke Little in a 4-4 game in the sixth inning and the run that scored on TJ Friedl’s RBI double was charged to Assad. The five earned runs were the most allowed in any start by Assad this year. His ERA is now 2.74, but his xFIP is significantly higher at 3.98. The 26-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays on the road next week. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:47 pm

    • Absent from lineup
Langeliers isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Langeliers has received more days off than usual of late, as he's now started just three of the last six games for the Athletics. He doesn't appear to be dealing with any sort of injury, however. Kyle McCann will get the start at catcher for Oakland on Thursday. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:58 am
