    • Leaves with injured foot
Morel was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox after fouling a ball off his left foot, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Morel looked to be in a considerable amount of pain after getting hit in the foot, but he remained in the game to finish his at-bat, during which he drew a walk. Patrick Wisdom entered the game as a pinch runner, and the Cubs will now take a closer look at Morel. The 24-year-old had gone 5-for-16 with two homers and three RBI across his last five games heading into Wednesday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm

    • Christopher Morel exits with injury on Wednesday
Christopher Morel was removed from Wednesday’s battle against the White Sox in the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off of his left foot in the seventh inning.

Advice: The 24-year-old finished the plate appearance where he worked a walk but was ultimately lifted for a pinch-runner. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any potential fractures in his foot and the Cubs should have an update on his status after the conclusion of Wednesday’s ballgame. • Carlos Rodón strikes out nine in win over Twins
Carlos Rodón was terrific in Wednesday’s victory over the Twins, piling up nine strikeouts over six innings of two-run baseball.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw scattered just three hits on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He kept the Twins’ offense at bat completely through the first five frames until Carlos Santana slugged a solo homer in the sixth inning. The Twins also scratched out a run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Carlos Correa later in the inning. Rodón generated 18 swings and misses on 100 pitches on the night — eight of those on his heater — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. Now 8-2 on the season, Rodón will attempt to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 71/20 K/BB ratio (73 innings) into Monday’s tilt against the Royals in Kansas City. • Pete Fairbanks closes out Marlins on Wednesday
Pete Fairbanks slammed the door on the Marlins in the ninth inning on Wednesday, preserving a two-run lead to earn his eighth save of the season.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander made quick work of the Marlins in this one, getting Dane Myers on a swinging third strike, Tim Anderson on a ground ball to shortstop and Vidal Brujan on a line drive to center to end it. He needed just 11 pitches (10 strikes) to dispatch of the Fish. On the season, Fairbanks now sports a 3.32 ERA to go with a 22/10 K/BB ratio over 19 innings on the season. • Jack Flaherty (back) confident he’ll make next start
Jack Flaherty (back) told reporters on Wednesday that he’s confident he’ll make his next scheduled start on Tuesday against the Nationals.

Advice: While most players express optimism in all injury situations, it’s at least encouraging that he hasn’t been placed on the injured list as of yet. The 28-year-old hurler was pulled from Tuesday’s outing against the Rangers after just 60 pitches due to tightness in his back. Flaherty did say that he still felt some stiffness in his back on Wednesday, but that it’s improved from where he was on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should have a contingency option in place in the event that Flaherty can’t give it a go next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:35 pm
    • First to 20 saves
Helsley earned the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Astros, recording a pair of strikeouts in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Helsley's now delivered back-to-back scoreless innings, striking out four in that span, after allowing four runs in his previous three appearances. The 29-year-old Helsley is now the first in the majors to reach to 20-save mark. His ERA is down to 2.33 with a 1.07 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB across 27 innings this season. • Might not be ready Friday
Astros manager Joe Espada indicated Wednesday that Tucker (lower leg) might not be ready to return to the lineup Friday against the Angels, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Tucker missed a second straight start Wednesday with a bruised right shin. While Espada said the outfielder is "making progress," he implied that Alex Bregman (hand) has a better shot to be ready to go Friday following the team's off day Thursday. Tucker was originally injured in Monday's game versus the Cardinals when he fouled a ball off his lower leg. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:52 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) may not be ready by Friday
Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters after Wednesday’s loss to the Cardinals that Kyle Tucker (shin) may not be ready to rejoin the lineup on Friday.

Advice: The 27-year-old superstar missed his second consecutive game on Wednesday after leaving Monday’s game with a right shin contusion. It doesn’t sound like Tucker is going to require a trip to the injured list, but it is taking him longer to bounce back than originally anticipated. It’s a situation fantasy managers need to monitor heading into the Astros’ weekend series against the Angels in Los Angeles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm

    • Ryan Helsley nets 20th save Wednesday vs. Astros
Ryan Helsley struck out two in a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Astros to record his major league-leading 20th save of the season.

Advice: There haven’t been a ton of save opportunities recently for Helsley in recent weeks, with just five chances over the last two weeks. However, he’s converted 20 of his 21 save opportunities this season to accompany a sparkling 2.33 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 29/6 K/BB ratio across 27 innings (27 appearances). He got the call to protect a two-run margin in this one and needed just eight pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm
