  • Carlos Santana homers, gets three hits in loss
Carlos Santana went 3-for-5 with a homer in a loss to the Rays on Thursday in extra-innings.

Advice: Santana’s homer made it 6-3 in the ninth, and Minnesota scored three more runs to take the game into extras before falling. The 38-year-old has gone deep 12 times, and while he hasn’t helped much in the average category (.247), he’s been a solid power-producer; particularly since scuffling over the first three weeks. • Blows save, picks up fifth win
Kimbrel (5-2) earned the win and blew a save against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout in the ninth inning.

Advice: Kimbrel was called upon to protect a 5-4 lead in the ninth inning but allowed a leadoff double by Anthony Volpe and a game-tying single by Giancarlo Stanton. He was able to keep the game tied and the Yankees won in the 10th inning to earn Kimbrel the win. Until Wednesday, Kimbrel had not allowed an earned run since May 8 or blown a save since April 28. On the season Kimbrel is now 16-for-20 in save chances and owns a 2.63 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 39:11 K:BB over 27.1 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:10 pm

  • Homers twice in win
Naylor went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Naylor opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning. He then added a two-run home run in the fifth and a solo homer in the seventh. Naylor has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 10-for-26 with three homers and seven RBI. • Josh Naylor smacks two home runs against Mariners
Josh Naylor went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI on Wednesday.

Advice: Naylor took over this game offensively with a run-scoring single in the first, thunderous home run to break it open in the fifth, and then a solo-shot in the seventh for good measure. He’d been batting under .200 since the start of May after a strong April and knowing how streaky of a hitter Naylor can be, this might be the start of his next hot streak.
