• Taking seat Friday
Kjerstad is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Kjerstad clubbed his first home run of the season in Thursday's win over the Rangers in what was his third straight start against a right-hander. However, he will begin this one on the bench versus Texas righty Max Scherzer. Colton Cowser will occupy left field for the Orioles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:28 pm

  • Idle Friday
Gordon is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Philadelphia.

Advice: Gordon will get a breather Friday after making six straight starts, collecting a hit in each contest. Bryan De La Cruz will play left field and lead off against the Phillies. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:28 pm

  • Hits first homer of season
Kjerstad went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI, two total runs and a walk Thursday in an 11-2 rout of the Rangers.

Advice: Kjerstad kicked off a big offensive game by Baltimore with a run-scoring single in the first inning and added a two-run homer in the third. The long ball was the first of the season for the 24-year-old, who returned from the minors Monday following a largely unsuccessful stint in the majors earlier in the campaign. Kjerstad's second go-round has been much better than his first so far, as he's gone 4-for-11 with two extra-base hits across four games since his most recent call-up. • Garcia blasts 15th home run in loss Thursday
Adolis Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Garcia’s home run was his 15th of the season. It hasn’t been Garcia’s best season, but he’s showing what it means to possess a solid floor. He’s only hitting .219, but he’s still on pace for around 30 home runs with 15 stolen bases and run totals in the mid-80s. Even though Garcia isn’t repeating the monster season he produced last year, he’s still carving out a pretty nice year for himself.

  • Kjerstad hits home run, drives in three in win
Heston Kjerstad went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, a home run and three RBI against the Rangers on Thursday.

Advice: Kjerstad’s home run was his first of the season. He started the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and his two-run home run off Jon Gray in the third inning gave the Orioles a 6-0 lead. Anthony Santander had the night off with Kjerstad playing right field. Baltimore has a glut of outfielders, but Kjerstad will at least rotate in and could start to see regular playing time with more games like the one he had on Thursday.

  • Anthony Santander getting a day off on Thursday
Anthony Santander will get a day off on Thursday with Colton Cowser starting in left field and batting eighth against the Rangers.

Advice: Santander is on fire in June with 12 home runs in 25 games. He’ll rest, and we’ll get to see Colton Cowser and Heston Kjerstad in the lineup at the same time. Rotoworld Thursday, 11:36 am

  • Idle Thursday
Santander isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Santander will get a breather Thursday after going 1-for-11 with a homer and two RBI during Baltimore's previous series against the Guardians. Colton Cowser, Cedric Mullins and Heston Kjerstad will make up the Orioles' outfield while Santander sits. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:35 am

  • Collects hit in return to majors
Hill started in center field and went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Hill was part of a roster shakeup Wednesday; he replaced Ezequiel Duran, who was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock. Rangers general manager Chris Young is trying to right the ship of the 2023 World Series champs. "It'll be performance-driven," Young told Kenndi Landry of MLB.com. "The reality is that anybody who is performing in Triple-A, there will be an opportunity here and we're gonna go with the team that helps us win games, the guys who are hot." Hill slashed .351/.416/.617 over 42 games at Round Rock and seemingly will be given an opportunity to dig the Rangers out of a hole, though he didn't help himself Wednesday as an ill-advised dive in the outfield led to an inside-the-park homer for Jackson Chourio. • Excellent in doubleheader
Kelenic went 6-for-9 with a home run, four RBI and one stolen base over both games of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Advice: Kelenic knocked in half of Atlanta's runs in the matinee games, and he added an RBI single for their lone run in the nightcap. The outfielder has enjoyed a strong June, going 25-for-78 (.321) with five homers, 13 RBI and three steals over 21 contests this month. He's up to a .282/.321/.459 slash line with eight long balls, 25 RBI, three steals, 24 runs scored and 11 doubles through 65 games on the year. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:38 pm
