• Extends hit streak to 13 games
Kiner-Falefa went 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Kiner-Falefa singled and scored in the first inning and added another base hit in the fifth. He smacked an RBI single and scored in the sixth frame and then finished his huge day by doubling and scoring again in the eighth. The 29-year-old has put together a 13-game hit streak and seen his season average climb from .263 to .296. He also has seven home runs, 33 RBI, 32 runs scored and three steals over 277 plate appearances in what has been a surprisingly productive 2024. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:32 pm

  • Garrett Mitchell not likely to join Brewers Sunday
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy said after Saturday’s loss to the Cubs that he didn’t expect Garrett Mitchell to join the big league roster on Sunday.

Advice: It’s curious, as Murphy told reporters after Friday’s game that there was no plan to option Mitchell to Triple-A Nashville once his rehab assignment came to an end on Saturday. Something has to give. It sounds like the 25-year-old outfielder is going to remain at the Triple-A level for the time being instead of adding to an already crowded outfield mix in Milwaukee. • Isiah Kiner-Falefa collects four hits against Yankees
Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, and one RBI against the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Kiner-Falefa had an excellent day at the plate, collecting four hits against the Yankees while cross home plate three time and driving in one run. The 29-year-old infielder is slashing a strong .296/.343/.427 with seven homers, 32 runs scored, 33 RBI, and three steals across 277 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:07 pm

  • Back in action Saturday
Winker (knee) is starting in left field and batting third Saturday against the Rays.

Advice: Winker was battling knee problems after getting his foot caught in the outfield grass during the first inning of Friday's game, but he appears to be in good enough shape to play Saturday. The 30-year-old has slashed .260/.377/.412 through 302 plate appearances this season, though he may see limited work in the outfield after top prospect James Wood officially joins the Nationals for his MLB debut Monday. • Resumes taking swings
Bryant (oblique) took swings in the batting cage prior to Friday's game, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bryant has rib and oblique injuries and has been sidelined since June 3. He took positive steps Friday, but he remains without a timeline to return to the field. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:53 am

  • Jesse Winker in Saturday’s lineup against Rays
Jesse Winker (knee) is in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Winker is back in left field and batting third for Saturday’s showdown after suffering a right knee contusion during the bottom of the first inning of Friday’s game when he attempted to catch a fly ball near the left-field wall. His right cleat got caught in the turf, causing him to stumble and fall into the wall, which led to his exit from the contest. He’s apparently feeling well enough to get back in the lineup, which is a relief for the Nationals, and fantasy managers as well. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:37 am

  • Sitting vs. lefty
Varsho is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: With the Yankees sending left-hander Nestor Cortes to the mound Saturday, Varsho will retreat to the bench. Varsho returned to the starting lineup Thursday after sitting the three games prior due to a back injury, and he's gone 0-for-8 with five strikeouts over his last two starts. Kevin Kiermaier will start in center field Saturday and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:38 am

  • James Wood doubles three times Friday at Triple-A
Nationals OF prospect James Wood went 3-for-5 with three RBI on Friday for Triple-A Rochester.

Advice: Talk about finishing strong. All indications are that Wood is headed to the majors on Monday for his big-league debut when the Nationals kick off a series against the division-rival Mets, but he’s not quite done mashing in the minors just yet. The 21-year-old showed why he’s one of the most exciting prospects in the fantasy landscape in this one by scalding a season-high three doubles on Friday evening to raise his triple-slash line to a sublime .353/.463/.595 with 10 homers and 10 steals across 52 games this season for Triple-A Rochester. He’s ready. Rotoworld Saturday, 8:22 am

  • On base four times in loss
Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Mets.

Advice: The 27-year-old slugger consistently got himself into scoring position, but the rest of the Houston lineup had trouble bringing him around. Since missing a couple games earlier in the month to attend to a personal matter, Alvarez has gone 9-for-27 (.333) in seven contests with three doubles, two homers, four RBI and five runs. Friday's steal was also his career-high fourth of the season -- he came into 2024 with only two in 482 career games. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:27 pm
