• Held out with back issue
Manager Aaron Boone said Berti (groin) won't play in a scheduled rehab game with Double-A Somerset on Wednesday after his back locked up on him, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: The hope is that it's only a one-day absence for Berti, but that wouldn't seem to be a given. He's played two games with Somerset already as he comes back from a groin strain. Berti had potentially been looking at a return from the 10-day injured list this weekend, but that might be delayed now. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Colin Rea blanks Rays for six innings in win
Colin Rea shut out the Rays for six innings for his third victory as the Brewers prevailed 7-1 on Wednesday.

Advice: Rea’s strikeout rate is just 16% and his velocity is down about one mph from last year, but he has a 2.67 ERA after six starts anyway and the Brewers are 5-1 when he pitches. We’d still typically suggest staying away in mixed leagues, but he’s probably looking at a two-start week against the Royals and Cardinals, which is sort of tempting. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Zach Eflin gives up three runs in defeat
Zach Eflin dropped to 1-4 after giving up three runs in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Brewers.

Advice: Eflin struck out six and walked none. The big blow was a William Contreras two-run double on a pitch a good four inches inside with two outs in the second. Another batter likely would have fouled that one off, but Contreras is just too good. Fortunately, Eflin won’t face anyone like him with the White Sox coming to town next week. • Willy Adames hits two homers versus former club
Willy Adames hit a pair of homers to drive in four runs against his former team in a win over the Rays on Wednesday.

Advice: Adames has three homers and eight RBI the last two days. It looked like he might bat lower in the order than usual this year, and he did hit fifth against the Mets on Opening Day. However, he’s hit fourth or higher every game since, and he’s now up to 21 RBI in 30 games for the season. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Sal Frelick goes 0-for-5 against Rays
Sal Frelick went 0-for-5 as the Brewers’ leadoff man on Wednesday.

Advice: Power wasn’t always going to be an issue for Frelick, but one imagined there’s be some gains from his rookie season. Instead, he’s homerless in 116 plate appearances, and he has both a lower walk rate and a higher strikeout rate than last year. It’ll be interesting to see who heats up first between him and Jackson Chourio, since one of the two might be in line for a demotion at some point. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Resting Wednesday
Bailey is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Bailey will get a breather Wednesday after he had caught each of the Giants' last six games. Tom Murphy will fill in for Bailey behind the plate. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago
  • Yandy Díaz goes 0-for-5 in loss to Brewers
Yandy Díaz finished 0-for-5 in the loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.

Advice: Díaz did reach on an error, but he was credited with four groundouts and one flyout today. His groundball rate is currently checking in at 62%, well above his already problematic career mark of 53%. Hopefully, it’s something he can straightened out in the next few weeks. If not, it looks like we’re back to the Díaz of 2019-21, when he was a valuable major leaguer but one without much to offer in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Jon Berti (back) won’t play rehab game Wednesday
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Jon Berti (groin) won’t play in his scheduled minor league rehab game on Wednesday due to tightness in his back.

Advice: Boone termed it a precautionary measure and said that they were hopeful Berti would be able to return to the lineup on Thursday. He’s probably going to need a couple more games before he’s ready to rejoin the Yankees, but if all goes well we could see him in Pinstripes at some point next week. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

  • On track to begin rehab assignment
Gonzalez (wrist) is likely to begin a rehab assignment Thursday or Friday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Gonzalez's recovery from a left wrist sprain has come along more slowly than expected, but it would appear he's almost ready to test things out in game action. He's been out since mid-April and shouldn't need too many rehab at-bats before being activated, assuming all goes well. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
