    • Singer allows six earned runs in loss to Yankees
Brady Singer allowed six earned runs over 5 2/3 innings while striking out six in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Singer gave up two runs in the first inning, but it was a four-run fourth that caused most of the damage. Gleyber Torres singled in the fourth to drive in Alex Verdugo, but a three-run homer by Alex Wells on the ensuing at-bat put this one well out of reach. Singer has allowed five or more runs in just two of his 13 outings this season and will look to rebound in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Today, 7:58 pm
    • Nolan Gorman hits 15th homer in loss to Pirates
Nolan Gorman went 1-for-4 with a home run in the Cardinals’ loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Gorman’s solo blast in the bottom of the ninth, marked his 15th homer of the season. It was also the only run the Cardinals plated on the evening, as they spent much of the night being locked down by Paul Skenes and the Pirates’ bullpen. Gorman has just three hits in his last five games and is slashing .265/.342/.618 on the month.

    • Falls to Orioles
Fried (6-3) took the loss Tuesday against Baltimore, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Three of the runs charged to Fried came on a Jorge Mateo homer in the second inning. It was a tough night for the 30-year-old left-hander -- Fried had won three consecutive starts prior to Tuesday, allowing just three earned runs over 24 innings while striking out 28 in that span. Overall, his ERA sits at 3.20 on the year with a 1.06 WHIP and 70:24 K:BB across 13 starts (78.2 innings). Fried will look to bounce back in his next outing, currently scheduled for early next week at home against the Tigers. Rotowire.com Today, 7:18 pm
    • CJ Abrams triples, collects RBI in Nats’ victory
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday, leading the Nationals to a 5-4 extra-inning win over the Tigers in a 10-inning marathon.

Advice: Abrams extended Washington’s early lead with a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning before coming around to score on a sacrifice fly from ensuing batter Lane Thomas. The 23-year-old speedster has been in a bit of a rut offensively over the last few weeks, hitting .203 (25-for-123) with only three homers and two steals over his last 30 games. • Max Fried turns in rare dud Tuesday vs. Orioles
Max Fried allowed four runs over five innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Orioles.

Advice: It wasn’t a total clunker, but it certainly qualifies as a rare dud for Fried, who was pitching on extra rest in this one and ended up allowing four earned runs for the first time since May 5. He was tagged for six hits, including a three-run homer by Jorge Mateo, and only finished with three strikeouts in an abbreviated outing. He’ll bring a solid 3.20 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 70/24 K/BB ratio across 78 2/3 innings (13 starts) into a favorable matchup on Sunday against the Rays. Rotoworld Today, 6:06 pm
    • Receives injection
Flaherty (back), who received an injection Monday and is scheduled to play catch Wednesday, is expected to start this weekend against the Astros if he remains free of setbacks, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old exited his start last Tuesday due to back tightness and originally lined up to make his next turn through the rotation Tuesday versus Washington, but his spot has been pushed back a few days. Flaherty's throwing session Wednesday should provide some clarity for his availability this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 1:54 pm
    • Jack Flaherty to start this weekend vs. Astros
Jack Flaherty (back) received an anti-inflammatory injection on Monday.

Advice: Flaherty has already been ruled out from making his next start on Tuesday night against the Nationals, but remains on track to take the ball to take the ball at some point this weekend against the Astros. Barring an unexpected setback, it appears likely he’ll avoid a trip to the injured list. The 28-year-old righty has seemingly put it all together this season in his Tigers debut, returning to form as one of the premier fantasy starters in the game. It’s an encouraging update that he’s still on track to take the ball this week. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm
    • Rafael Devers (knee) back in lineup Tuesday
Rafael Devers (knee) is hitting cleanup and playing third base against the Phillies on Tuesday.

Advice: Devers missed Sunday’s game while dealing with soreness in his knee, but he’s back in the lineup for Tuesday’s opener against the Phillies. The 27-year-old will face off against Zack Wheeler while Bobby Dalbec retreating to the bench. Rotoworld Today, 12:07 pm

    • Hitting cleanup in return
Defers (knee) is batting fourth and playing third base Tuesday against Philadelphia, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: Devers missed Sunday's game with left knee soreness but he's back in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener. He's 8-for-25 (.320) with three homers through seven games in June and owns a .932 OPS on the year. Rotowire.com Today, 12:01 pm
