    • Corbin Carroll (side) heading for MRI exam
Corbin Carroll will remain in Arizona to get an MRI exam after leaving Sunday’s game with rib cage discomfort.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder sustained the injury while making a throw from the outfield during Sunday’s game. While the exact nature and severity of the injury are not yet known, the fact that he’s heading for an MRI exam isn’t encouraging. If it’s an oblique issue, a stint on the injured list seems like a near certainty. Fantasy managers should be sure to have a contingency plan in place for next week. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:35 pm
    • Logan Gilbert dominates Rangers in 5-0 game
Logan Gilbert allowed two hits and walked none over eight innings in the Mariners’ 5-0 shutout of the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: Gilbert recorded 21 whiffs and nine strikeouts in one of the best outings of his still rather young career. He’s 12-for-15 giving the Mariners quality starts this year, which would seem to warrant better than 4-4 record. His 2.93 ERA ranks 15th in the majors, but his 0.92 WHIP places fifth. • Leaves Sunday in seventh inning
Carroll left Sunday in the seventh inning against the White Sox with an apparent left side injury, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Piecoro observed Carroll reacting after a throw in the top of the inning. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. replaced Carroll in the game, with Jake McCarthy moving from left field to center field to replace Carroll. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:10 pm
    • Blasts leadoff homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs in Sunday's 11-6 win over the Padres.

Advice: On the third pitch he saw, Lindor took Dylan Cease deep for his first leadoff homer since 2019. It was his 12th home run this season and the third in his last nine games. Lindor has been on a steady climb for about a month now with an average of .303 over his last 25 games. After his slow start, the shortstop is now carrying a .231/.305/.420 slash line with 12 homers, 34 RBI and 11 steals for the season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:26 pm
    • Lewis blasts sixth home run in win Sunday
Royce Lewis went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk against the Athletics on Sunday.

Advice: Lewis continues to mash the ball since returning from the injured list. He’s now hit six home runs in 42 plate appearances this season. It’s a tiny sample size, but he’s hitting .395 with a .526 ISO on the year.

    • Hurls seven no-hit innings
Blanco (7-2) got the win Sunday vs the Tigers. He did not allow a run or a hit in seven innings while walking three and striking out eight.

Advice: Blanco flirted with his second no-hitter of the season, but his elevated pitch count forced him out of the game after seven frames, and the bullpen would give up a hit the next inning. The 30-year-old righty mowed through the Tigers lineup by registering eight strikeouts in another impressive showing. Blanco lowered his ERA to 2.43, and he became the eighth pitcher since 1900 to have multiple games of seven innings and zero hits allowed in single season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 1:44 pm

    • Ronel Blanco starting Sunday against Tigers
Ronel Blanco will start Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: There was talk that Blanco would get some extra rest before making his next outing, but the right-hander will work on regular rest for the finale against Detroit. Assuming the rotation stays the same after this start, his next outing would come against the Orioles. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:31 am

    • Drawing start Sunday
Blanco will start Sunday's game against the Tigers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Heading into the weekend, Blanco wasn't expected to make a start against the Tigers, but he ended up getting pushed up in the pitching schedule after Justin Verlander had his turn in the rotation skipped due to a neck injury. As a result of the change in the pitching schedule, Blanco no longer lines up for two starts during the upcoming week. After Sunday's outing, the right-hander is on track to make his next start next weekend versus the Orioles in Houston. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:12 am

    • Remains hot in loss
Candelario went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Candelario had two of Cincinnati's five hits, including a ninth-inning double that plated the club's lone run. The once-struggling infielder is having himself a June, going 20-for-56 (.357) with six home runs, four doubles and 14 RBI through 13 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:00 am
