Advice: De La Cruz was one of the few bright spots in this one as Cincinnati’s offense was almost completely shut down by Pirates rookie ace Paul Skenes into the late innings of the first meeting between the two division rivals this year. Advice: Wacha was hit in the foot by a comebacker on May 31st and was placed on the IL with a fracture a couple of days later. He threw a three-inning simulated game last Thursday and reported no issues, so he’ll step up to a short rehab start and continue to work his way back from there. Advice: According to Anne Rogers of MLB.com, Royals manager Matt Quatraro said Sunday that Wacha may need only the one outing in the minors before returning from the 15-day injured list and making his next start with Kansas City this coming weekend in Arlington versus the Rangers. Wacha threw a three-inning simulated game Thursday, so he could be stretched out for close to a typical starter's workload if he's able to tack on another inning during Monday's outing. Advice: Sears had gone five starts without giving up a home run, but his good fortune ended with Carlos Correa taking him deep twice and Royce Lewis adding another homer in this start.
