    • Ketel Marte listed as day-to-day with tight back
Ketel Marte is day-to-day after leaving Friday’s game with back tightness.

Advice: If he can’t play Saturday, then the Diamondbacks will use Kevin Newman at second base, since they sent down their best alternative, Blaze Alexander, for no good reason. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

    • Nursing tight back
Marte exited Friday's game against the Padres due to lower-back tightness, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Marte had gone 0-for-4 during Friday's loss before Randal Grichuk pinch hit for him in the ninth inning, and manager Torey Lovullo confirmed after the game that Marte's removal was due to a lingering back issue that has been bothering him for a while. He won't require any imaging, however, and the team is viewing him as day-to-day. Rotowire.com Today, 10:09 pm

    • Wins despite command issues
Lorenzen (5-4) allowed a hit and five walks over five shutout innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Rays.

Advice: Lorenzen's control was shaky and nearly cost him a scoreless outing when he walked the bases loaded in the fifth inning, but he managed to escape the jam. He's thrown exactly five innings in three straight starts and has walked nine batters over his last two outings. Lorenzen dropped his season ERA to 3.21 with a lackluster 62:40 K:BB through 87 innings. His next start is lined up to be on the road against the Angels. Rotowire.com Today, 8:22 pm
    • Aaron Nola strikes out eight in win
Aaron Nola allowed three earned runs across six innings in a win Friday against the Braves. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

Advice: Nola was fantastic in this one. His 21 swings-and-misses were the most he’s forced in a game this season and first time he’s hit that total since June 5th of last year. His vaunted knuckle curve stymied the Braves all night and Nola looked dominant despite the three runs. Rotoworld Today, 7:47 pm

    • Delivers quality start
Nola (10-4) yielded three runs on five hits over six innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over Atlanta.

Advice: Nola got through three shutout frames before coughing up a two-run shot to Austin Riley in the fourth inning. Ozzie Albies then knocked a solo homer in the sixth. It was the first time that Nola gave up multiple home runs since May 31, and he allowed just three in the entire month of June. He forced a season-high 21 swinging strikes Friday, with 10 coming on the knuckle curve. Nola has delivered a quality start in nine of his last 10 outings, including in four straight. During that 10-start stretch, the veteran righty has posted a 3.34 ERA while going 6-2. Nola will carry a 3.48 ERA into his next outing, which is currently lined up to be at home against the Dodgers. • Monster performance in win
Reynolds went 4-for-5 with two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored in a 14-2 win over the Mets on Friday.

Advice: Reynolds gave the Pirates the lead on a two-run home run in the fifth inning, then broke things open with a grand slam in the seventh. He hit .330 with six homers in June and has carried his power stroke into July with three long balls and eight RBI through four games. On the year, the outfielder is hitting .280 with 16 home runs, 54 RBI, 39 runs scored and five steals over 390 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:56 pm

    • Bryan Reynolds homers from both sides of plate
Bryan Reynolds went 4-for-5 with two home runs, six RBI, and two runs scored on Friday against the Mets.

Advice: Reynolds was all over the Mets in this one. His two-run homer in the fifth inning pulled the Pirates ahead and his seventh inning grand slam broke this game open. It was the second time in his career he’s homered from both sides of the plate in the same game and he pulled his OPS up to .831 with 16 homers and 54 RBI. He is a perpetually underrated stud. • Sitting against southpaw
Melendez isn't in the Royals' lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Melendez will retreat to the dugout Friday as left-handed starter Kyle Freeland starts on the bump for Colorado. Dairon Blanco, Garrett Hampson and Hunter Renfroe will make up the Royals' outfield while Melendez rests. Rotowire.com Today, 2:22 pm

    • Homers in win
Suzuki went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 5-1 win over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Suzuki got the scoring started Friday with a two-run home run off Griffin Canning in the first inning. The 29-year-old has now homered four times over his past 10 games with eight RBI and eight runs scored. He has been a solid contributor across the board in 2024, hitting .262 with 12 home runs, 36 RBI, 36 runs scored and eight steals over 275 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 1:59 pm
