      Advice: The 28-year-old hurler struggled in a no-decision against the Astros on Saturday, giving up four runs over 5 1/3 innings of work. On the season, he holds a disappointing 5.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and a 49/19 K/BB ratio across 39 innings over his eight starts. The Mets will utilize the roster spot to add a fresh arm to their bullpen and will then likely utilize either Christian Scott or Jose Butto to fill the void in their rotation next week against the Nationals.       The Mets optioned Megill to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Megill started Saturday's 9-6 loss to Houston, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts across 5.1 innings. He didn't factor into the decision. As the Mets maneuver around Edwin Diaz's 10-game suspension, they're expected to call up a reliever to fill Megill's spot and eat innings in the coming days before having Christian Scott or Jose Butto brought up to start in Megill's regular rotation slot.       Sewald struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Athletics.

      Advice: Sewald has picked up saves in four straight appearances and in seven of his 10 outings in June. The closer has been virtually untouchable this month, allowing two hits, two walks and two hit batsmen while striking out six over 8.2 innings.       Tylor Megill allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Astros on Saturday.



      Advice: Megill gave up five hits, walked three and struck out six. He pitched well enough to win and looked like he was going to before the Mets bullpen blew a late lead. Megill has a 5.08 ERA on the season, but he’s pitched better than that as his xFIP is 3.92. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals on the road next week.

      Advice: Gray allowed two runs in the third inning then endured a rough fifth frame, loading the bases and yielding a run on an error by Nolan Arenado. He was pulled after the error at 92 pitches, and each of the three inherited runners came around to score before the end of the frame. Gray generated a solid 14 swinging strikes on 92 pitches but failed to complete five innings for just the second time in 15 starts this season.       Advice: Ramirez’ home run was his 23rd of the season. He had an RBI double in the fifth inning to give the Guardians a 4-2 lead. He scored on Josh Naylor’s RBI double to make it 5-2 and his home run in the seventh inning made it 7-2. Ramirez is hitting .280 with an .890 OPS and 75 RBI on the year.       Jarren Duran hit a solo homer in a blowout loss to the Padres on Saturday.

      Advice: Duran took Michael King deep in what ended up being the only run of the game for the Red Sox in the sixth inning. It also came with Boston trailing 10-0, but still counts just the same. Duran has been nothing short of spectacular in June with a .366/.420/.594 slash, and he’s now up to eight homers and 38 RBI to go along with his 20 stolen bases across the 2024 campaign.
