    • Cole allows four home runs in loss
      Gerrit Cole allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: There’s a fair amount to be concerned about here. The Yankees ace walked four and struck out nobody on the day. His fastball sat 95.4 mph on the day which was down 1.3 mph from his first start. He hit 98 mph in the first inning but by the third inning, he threw only four fastballs and just one was over 94 mph. Home runs hit by Mark Vientos and Harrison Bader were on fastballs that were 91.5 and 93.2 mph. Given that Cole’s elbow injury to start the year involved some nerve issues, there’s a concern that there remains a lingering impact on Cole’s health or performance. It could also just be one bad start, but this is the second outing of his career that he did not strike out any batters and the other was on May 20, 2016, so it’s certainly a performance we want to take note of.       Zac Gallen (hamstring) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Thursday.

      Advice: Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters they’ll make a decision on Gallen’s next step following his latest throwing session. The hope here for fantasy managers is that the 28-year-old ace will be ready to jump right back into Arizona’s starting rotation without needing a rehab assignment.     • Tosses 5.2 scoreless frames Monday
      Crochet took a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing five hits and striking out six batters over 5.2 scoreless innings.

      Advice: Crochet was on his game with 16 whiffs and six punchouts against one of MLB's top offenses, but Dodgers starter James Paxton traded scoreless frames with him, and both hurlers had to settle for a no-decision. Crochet continues to impress in what has been a breakout first campaign as a starter -- he lowered his ERA to 3.05 with Monday's outing and ranks second in the league with 130 strikeouts.     • Crochet strikes out six in scoreless start Monday
      Garrett Crochet allowed no runs in 5 2/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday.



      Advice: Crochet gave up five hits, walked none and struck out six. It was a pretty good effort considering he was facing the Dodgers, but the White Sox couldn’t score any runs to support Crochet. He was one out away from a quality start, breaking a streak of six consecutive quality starts. Crochet continues to build a potential Cy Young award case with a 3.05 ERA and 130 strikeouts on the season. There’s no doubt he’s been a fantasy MVP, though.     • Blake Snell (groin) to make second rehab start
      Blake Snell, combing back from a groin strain, will make another rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.

      Advice: Snell struggled in his first outing, giving up two earned runs and walking three in 1 2/3 innings. If he’s better Friday, he could be activated next time through the rotation. Rotoworld Monday, 4:33 pm

      Snell (groin) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday and make another rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

      Advice: Snell showed signs of rust during his first rehab appearance with Sacramento on Sunday, and as expected, he'll make at least one more start in the minors before the club considers activating him from the 15-day injured list.       Advice: Gallen threw 52 pitches in a previous simulated game this past Tuesday, so he'll likely increase his workload a bit in Monday's throwing session. If all goes well, the right-hander will likely be activated from the 15-day injured list during the Diamondbacks' series against Oakland that begins Friday.     • Labors in rehab start
      Snell (groin) made a rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Sacramento, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while failing to strike out a batter across 1.2 innings.

      Advice: Snell wasn't particularly effective in the first start of his rehab assignment, throwing just 27 of his 51 pitches for strikes in a 5-4 win over Round Rock. Following the contest, the left-hander said he anticipates needing at least one more rehab appearance, if not more, stating that he wants to be "healthy and 100 percent" before he returns from the 15-day injured list, according to Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle.     • Paul Skenes strong for seven against Rays
      Paul Skenes was uninvolved in the decision Sunday after allowing one run in seven innings and striking out eight against the Rays.

      Advice: The homer off the bat of Yandy Díaz led off the game. The Rays had no further luck, though, at least not until Skenes left the game to begin the eighth. It’s the first time in eight big-league starts that Skenes has gotten through seven. He still hasn’t taken a loss, and his ERA stands at 2.14. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:14 pm
