    • Swanson hits fifth home run Saturday
Dansby Swanson went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Swanson’s two-run home run in the eighth inning was the difference in the Cubs’ 7-5 victory over the Reds. It was his fifth home run of the season. Swanson is due to improve at the plate at some point as his .208 batting average is the worst of his career and his .131 ISO is his worst since his first full MLB campaign in 2017. • Handling low-leverage role well
Smith has allowed two runs over nine innings since the start of May.

Advice: Smith doesn't have the best control, having allowed six hits and three walks with just five strikeouts in that span. He's also picked up two of his four holds in that stretch, though manager Matt Quatraro has mostly kept Smith out of high-leverage situations since early April. The left-hander's season-long numbers remain poor (6.38 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, 12:8 K:BB), but he's been less volatile recently. With James McArthur, John Schreiber and Chris Stratton all pitching at a mediocre level in May, there could eventually be a path to high-leverage chances for Smith if he can keep performing well. • On bench Saturday
Turner is out of the lineup Saturday versus the Pirates.

Advice: Turner will head to the bench after he went 2-for-11 with a double, two RBI, four walks and two strikeouts while starting the team's last three contests. Daniel Vogelbach will replace him at designated hitter and bat fifth against Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Today, 11:08 am

    • Resting Saturday
Murphy isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Saturday's game against Oakland.

Advice: Murphy has gone just 2-for-13 since returning from the injured list, so he'll get a chance to regroup Saturday while Travis d'Arnaud starts behind the dish, batting sixth. Rotowire.com Today, 10:11 am

    • Pitches well versus Giants
Stroman (5-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 7.1 innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Stroman has pitched into the eighth inning in two of his last four starts, allowing just three runs over 26.2 innings in that span. During his hot stretch, he's posted a 15:7 K:BB, but that's about the only weak spot in his game right now. Stroman is at a 2.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:29 K:BB over 69.1 innings across 12 starts. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Twins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:38 pm

    • Marcus Stroman pitches into eighth in victory
Marcus Stroman gave up two runs over 7 2/3 innings to get a win Friday over the Giants.

Advice: Stroman allowed six hits with a pair of walks while striking out only two. The punchouts are not the 33-year-old’s strength, but he limits the hard contact and works deep enough into games to give fantasy managers a reason to smile more often than not. He now owns a 2.76 ERA in his first season as a New York Yankee, and he’ll have a chance to lower that solid number further against the Twins next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:57 pm

    • Back in lineup Friday
Hoskins will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth in Friday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Hoskins has been out since May 13 due to a right hamstring strain, and he'll jump back into the lineup after being activated off the injured list Friday. He'll face off against White Sox right-hander Erick Fedde. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:48 pm

    • Brewers activate Rhys Hoskins from 10-day IL
Brewers activated 1B Rhys Hoskins from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The 31-year-old slugger will make his triumphant return to the Brewers’ starting lineup on Friday night against the White Sox. Prior to landing on the injured list with a right hamstring strain, Hoskins was hitting .233/.340/.474 with nine homers and 27 RBI through his first 38 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:47 pm

    • Activated from IL
The Brewers reinstated Hoskins (hamstring) from the injured list Friday.

Advice: Hoskins has been on the injured list since he strained his right hamstring during a game against Pittsburgh on May 13. He was originally expected to come off the IL during Milwaukee's upcoming road series in Philadelphia, but the slugging first baseman will instead return a few days early without playing in any rehab games. Hoskins should immediately return to a near-everyday role for the Brewers, though he may see more action as a DH as he gets his hamstring used to playing in games again. Owen Miller was optioned to Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:42 pm
