    • Rejoining lineup Wednesday
Martinez (ankle) will be in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: The 36-year-old was scratched from Tuesday's starting nine due to ankle soreness, which apparently surfaced because he was forced to try out a new pair of cleats. Martinez has since received another shipment of his usual cleats and shouldn't have any issues going forward. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:35 pm

    • J.D. Martinez (ankle) returns to lineup Wednesday
J.D. Martinez (ankle) returned to the Mets’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s battle against the Nationals.

Advice: Martinez was scratched from the team’s starting lineup on Tuesday due to soreness in his left ankle — that he got from having to use cleats that were emergency ordered from Amazon. Fortunately, Adidas sent him a couple of pairs before his regular shipment is scheduled to arrive, so he should be good to go on Wednesday. The 36-year-old slugger got off to a slow start with the Mets but has been killing it lately. On the season, he’s slashing .278/.360/.493 with 10 homers and 37 RBI in 56 games. • Another multi-hit game
Altuve went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored during Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Toronto.

Advice: For the sixth time in seven games, Altuve generated multiple hits, tagging the Blue Jays for three singles Tuesday. During that stretch, Altuve is 13-for-31 (.419) with a pair of home runs and three stolen bases. He ranks top five in homers, batting average and stolen bases among second basemen this season. • Lifts 13th homer
Burleson went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Burleson fizzled late in June, going 1-for-14 over his last four contests, but he started July on a high note. The outfielder had great June overall, hitting .271 with seven homers, 20 RBI, 18 runs scored, three stolen bases and an .824 OPS over 28 contests. That's earned him a starting role in right field and as the Cardinals' No. 2 hitter. For the season, Burleson is slashing .280/.313/.466 with 13 homers, 40 RBI, 33 runs scored and five steals through 77 games. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:48 pm

    • Swipes bag in loss
Rengifo went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one stolen base in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Rengifo has six multi-hit efforts over his last eight games, a span that includes four extra-base hits and five RBI. The 27-year-old's strong hitting has helped him maintain a starting role at third base this year. He's up to a .319/.362/.448 slash line with six home runs, 22 thefts, 25 RBI and 36 runs scored over 68 contests. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:50 pm

    • Anthony Santander propels Orioles past Mariners
Anthony Santander went 2-for-4 and drove in a run on Tuesday evening, leading the Orioles to a 2-0 victory over the Mariners in Seattle.

Advice: Santander broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning as he smacked an RBI single into right field off of George Kirby in the fourth inning that plated Gunnar Henderson. The 29-year-old outfielder also led off the second inning with a single, but he was ultimately erased on a double play. With his two-hit attack, Santander is now hitting .234/.302/.503 with 22 homers and 56 RBI on the year. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:32 pm

    • Nimmo has two hits, two RBI off bench
Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-3 with two RBIs after coming off the bench in a win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: Nimmo didn’t start the game after nursing a head injury when he fell in his hotel room on Sunday night and cut his head. However, he certainly seems to be healthy, knocking in a run on a single in the eighth to tie the game and then giving the Mets a two-run cushion in the 10th inning with an RBI double. Over the last six weeks, Nimmo is hitting .283/.377/.496 with six home runs, 27 runs scored, 21 RBI, and three steals in 33 games. He remains underrated in fantasy baseball. • J.D. Martinez scratched Tuesday with ankle soreness
J.D. Martinez was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to left ankle soreness.

Advice: It sounds like a precautionary move here by the Mets as they don’t want to take any chances with Brandon Nimmo (head) already sitting out due to injury. The 36-year-old veteran slugger will presumably be available to pinch-hit, if needed, during Tuesday’s contest against the Nationals. Rotoworld Tuesday, 3:09 pm

    • Scratched with ankle soreness
Martinez was scratched from the Mets' lineup ahead of Tuesday's game versus Washington due to left ankle soreness, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The severity of Martinez's injury isn't immediately apparent, but it's enough of a nuisance to keep him from playing Tuesday. Luis Torrens will step into the lineup as New York's designated hitter and bat sixth while Martinez rests. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:00 pm
