    • Sent back to minors
The Marlins optioned Maldonado to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Maldonado's latest stint in the majors lasted just one day and he was roughed up for four runs over one inning in his lone appearance. Matt Andriese will take his spot in the bullpen. Rotowire.com Today, 7:52 am
    • Optioned to Triple-A
The Guardians optioned Morgan to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

Advice: Morgan holds a 1.98 ERA but just a 10:5 K:BB over 13.2 innings this season and has missed time with a pair of arm issues. David Sandlin (back) has returned from the injured list to take Morgan's spot in the Guardians' bullpen. Rotowire.com Today, 7:48 am

    • Returns from injured list
The Guardians activated Sandlin (back) from the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Sandlin required just a minimum stay on the IL with lower-back inflammation. He'll return to a middle relief role. Rotowire.com Today, 7:45 am
    • Impressive first rehab start
Senga (shoulder/triceps) struck out six over 2.2 scoreless innings in his first rehab start with High-A Brooklyn on Wednesday.

Advice: The only runner to reach base against Senga did so on an error, and he induced two groundouts in addition to his six punchouts. It was an encouraging performance from Senga, who threw 35 pitches over his 2.2 frames. He will need at least a couple more rehab starts before rejoining the Mets' rotation for his season debut. • Kodai Senga strikes out six in first rehab start
Kodai Senga (shoulder) recorded six strikeouts over 2 2/3 perfect innings on Wednesday in a minor league rehab start for High-A Brooklyn.

Advice: Things went swimmingly for Senga in his long-awaited return to game action as he threw 35 pitches (25 strikes) and fanned six of the nine batters he faced. The 31-year-old righty, who has been on the shelf since spring training due to a shoulder issue, will need several additional rehab outings before he’s ready to make his season debut. He’ll progress to facing some higher level minor-league hitters in the near future. Rotoworld Today, 5:08 am

    • Colin Rea blanks Rockies over seven innings in win
Colin Rea tossed seven scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Rea made his most impressive start of the season on Wednesday, holding the Rockies scoreless in Colorado across seven frames. He scattered six hits and struck out four batters with no walks, tossing 67-of-97 pitches for strikes. The 34-year-old right-hander will take a 3.34 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 66/28 K/BB ratio across 94 1/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in Milwaukee on Tuesday. • Michael Wacha strikes out eight Rays in win
Michael Wacha allowed just one run across six frames on Wednesday in the Royals’ 4-2 win over the Rays. He struck out eight, walked three, and gave up just three hits en route to a victory.

Advice: The eight punchouts matched a season-high for Wacha. He’s gone eight straight starts allowing two or fewer earned runs with a stint on the injured list in-between. He did his usual dance of cutters and changeups en route to this fantastic start. While not flashy, Wacha remains incredibly steady. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:15 pm
    • Dakota Hudson surrenders three runs in loss
Dakota Hudson allowed three runs with four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.

Advice: Hudson surrendered a solo homer to Christian Yelich in the first inning. A walk, wild pitch, and a base hit brought a second run in to score for the Brewers in the second inning. Hudson later loaded the bases in the fifth and walked in a run before he was replaced on the mound with two outs in the frame. The 29-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 5.84 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, and a 48/46 K/BB ratio across 86 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Reds in Cincinnati on Monday. • James McArthur records five-out save against Rays
James McArthur went 1 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Rays to earn the save. He allowed one hit and struck out one batter.

Advice: It wasn’t easy for McArthur who had to navigate an eighth inning in which he inherited two base runners and then saw Kyle Isbel make a phenomenal catch off a Taylor Walls line drive with Ben Rortvedt on second base in the ninth. Still, he closed this one out to earn his 15th save of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:15 pm
