    • Austin Riley homers again in loss to Giants
Austin Riley went 1-for-4 with a home run in Tuesday’s loss to the Giants.

Advice: Riley got the scoring started for the Braves in the second inning when he took Hayden Birdsong 415 feet to left for a solo homer. The home run was Riley’s 10th blast of the season and his third in his last 10 games. The veteran third baseman has gotten off to a slow start this season after three straight 30-plus homer seasons but has now hit safely in six of his last eight games. Rotoworld 4 minutes ago

    • Evan Carter (back) progressing towards return
Evan Carter (back) is expected to progress to facing live pitching again this week.

Advice: Carter resumes swinging a bat earlier this week and should be ready to face some actual live pitching in the coming days. The 21-year-old former top prospect landed on the injured list back in early June with a stress reaction in his back and was expected to miss at least one month. He’s going to need a minor league rehab assignment to get back up to speed, but it sounds like he could be back before the end of July, barring any setbacks. Rotoworld Today, 5:38 pm

    • Swipes ninth bag
Springer went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: The veteran outfielder extended his hitting streak to six games while pilfering his ninth bag of the year in nine attempts. Springer is batting .550 (11-for-20) with two doubles, three homers, four runs and 10 RBI during his heater, but he still has a long way to go climb out of his early-season hole -- his .641 OPS is well below his .824 career mark. • Starts rehab assignment
Campusano (thumb) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his first rehab game with Single-A Lake Elsinore on Monday.

Advice: Campusano has missed just over a week of action with a thumb injury, so he shouldn't need too many rehab at-bats before being activated. Kyle Higashioka is coming off an eight-homer June, so it's possible Campusano -- who has just a .588 OPS since May 1 -- will play second fiddle at catcher for the Padres upon his activation. • Daulton Varsho goes hitless versus Astros
Daulton Varsho went hitless in a seventh consecutive start Monday, finishing 0-for-3 with a walk against the Astros.

Advice: Varsho did get a hit off the bench Saturday, but he’s 1-for-28 with 13 strikeouts since June 19, dropping his average to .197. There’s too much homer and steal potential here to make Varsho droppable in fantasy leagues, but it’s tempting. Of course, he’s especially valuable in 6x6 leagues that include 280-foot flyouts as a category. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Finishes single short of cycle
Paredes went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, a double and an additional run scored Sunday against the Nationals.

Advice: Paredes entered the day with just two hits over his last 23 at-bats but broke out of it in a big way with his first three-hit game since May 21. He did all his damage off Nationals starter Patrick Corbin, going 3-for-3 against the lefty. Despite the recent slump, Paredes maintains a healthy .276/.361/.472 slash line on the season with 13 home runs, 43 RBI, 32 runs and 32 walks over 328 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:29 pm

    • Has four hits, drives in three
Castellanos went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Marlins.

Advice: For the second time in his last 10 games, Castellanos had a four-hit performance after having only one in his previous 264 games. Castellanos has 12 RBI over his last 11 games and now has 42 for the season. The recent hot streak has pushed Castellano's season line to .231/.289/.386 with 11 home runs through 83 games. • Nick Castellanos notches four hits on Sunday
Nick Castellanos went 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI, and a stolen base on Sunday in a thrilling 7-6 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Castellanos stepped up in a huge way Sunday as the Phillies try to make do without Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and J.T. Realmuto. He was in the middle of important rallies in the fifth and sixth innings and nearly hit a home run that was knocked down by Bryan De La Cruz right at the left field wall. Castellanos is too good to keep hitting as poorly as he has this season. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:01 pm

    • Receiving Sunday off
Correa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Seattle.

Advice: The veteran shortstop was in the lineup the past two days after being hit by a pitch on the right wrist Thursday, but he'll receive a day off for Sunday's series finale. Correa didn't appear to be affected by the injury as he went 3-for-8 with a two-run homer and an additional run scored in the first two games of the series. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:14 am
