    • Set to rejoin rotation
Snell (thigh) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list and make his next start for the Giants, likely Wednesday against the Pirates, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The veteran left-hander made his second rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, and he's apparently ready to rejoin the Giants after he struck out 10 over five scoreless frames. Snell didn't give up a run across his two rehab outings, which is an encouraging development after he posted an 11.57 ERA in his first three MLB starts of the campaign after signing late in spring training. • Looks sharp in first win
Flaherty (1-3) allowed two runs on five hits across six innings to earn the win Saturday against the Diamondbacks. He walked two and struck out nine.

Advice: Flaherty was sharp as he lowered his ERA to 3.79 and picked up his first win of the season. Despite only having the one win so far, the righty has had a nice bounceback campaign to this point after posting a 4.99 ERA with the Orioles and Cardinals last year. Flaherty has been buoyed by a rise in strikeouts, as he now has an 11.9 K/9 this season, up from 9.2 in 2023. He'll look to keep rolling in his next scheduled outing, which is is penciled in for Thursday against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 5:44 am
    • Spencer Steer goes 0-for-3 in loss to Dodgers
Spencer Steer went 0-for-3 with a strikeout on Saturday in the Reds’ shutout loss at the hands of the Dodgers.

Advice: It’s probably too early to panic, but Steer is batting just .165 (18-for-109) with one homer and eight steals over his last 30 games. The 26-year-old’s plate skills remain solid and his underlying Statcast batted ball metrics point to some regression on the way. Rotoworld Today, 3:48 am

    • Racks up three more hits
Gimenez went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Twins.

Advice: That's five multi-hit efforts in a row for Gimenez, and Saturday saw the second baseman earn his second three-hit game of the season. While he's making steady contact lately, he has just two extra-base hits over his last six contests. Gimenez is slashing .276/.333/.371 with two home runs, seven stolen bases, 25 RBI, 24 runs scored, eight doubles and a triple of 190 plate appearances as the Guardians' usual No. 2 hitter. • Stuck with loss Saturday
Cano (2-2) allowed two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning to take the loss Saturday versus the Mariners.

Advice: Cano allowed the first two batters to reach base in the eighth inning, giving up one run in the process. Cionel Perez also allowed an inherited runner to score, and the Orioles couldn't overcome the deficit. This is the first time Cano has given up multiple earned runs in an appearance all season, and just the second time he's given up more than one run of any kind. He's now at a 2.95 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB while adding two saves and 10 holds over 21.1 innings. The late-inning mix in Baltimore remains in flux, and Cano isn't doing himself any favors with three runs allowed over his last 1.1 innings across three appearances. • Productive in extra-innings loss
Adell went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Adell has gone 9-for-36 (.250) with four homers, nine RBI and one steal over his last 10 contests. The outfielder is up to eight homers, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored, eight steals, four doubles, a triple and a .250/.320/.528 slash line through 122 plate appearances. Adell had some brief moments of success in previous years, but he's finally doing enough to stick in a full-time role in right field in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:59 pm

    • Crumbles in fifth frame Saturday
Verlander (2-2) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Verlander made it through four innings without giving up a run, but things fell apart for him in the fifth. In that frame, he put the first three batters on base via a single and two walks before allowing his first run on a sacrifice fly. Verlander got another out to nearly escape the jam without further damage, but William Contreras sent him to the showers with a three-run blast to center field. Verlander was coming off his best start of the season with seven scoreless innings against Detroit his last time out, though that was preceded by a seven-run, five-inning blowup against the Yankees his previous trip to the mound. He'll try to get back on the right track in his next appearance, which is tentatively lined up to take place in Oakland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm
    • Goes deep again Saturday
Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and three total RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Twins.

Advice: Ramirez set the tone early with a two-run homer in the first inning. He added a run-scoring double in the third and finished with his second three-hit effort over his past five contests. Ramirez has gone deep in back-to-back games and has a .340 average, six homers and 16 RBI over his past 13 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:05 pm

    • Blows save, takes loss Saturday
Finnegan (1-3) took the loss and blew a save against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk over 1.2 innings.

Advice: Finnegan was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning and got two outs before serving up a game-tying solo homer to Kody Clemens. The contest went into an extra frame, and after Washington failed to score in the top of the 10th, Finnegan was tagged with the loss when Bryce Harper plated the automatic runner on a sacrifice fly. The blown save was just the second for Finnegan this year, with the other coming all the way back on March 31. The right-hander has been one of the best closers in the league this season with 13 saves along with a 1.89 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB over 19 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:55 pm
