• Works out of leadoff role Monday
Bleday hit leadoff for the first time this season in a loss to the Angels on Monday, going 1-for-4.

Advice: Max Schuemann led off Saturday and Sunday against the Twins following Abraham Toro's (hamstring) placement on the injured list, but the rookie went 0-for-8 with four strikeouts in that pair of games. That led to manager Mark Kotsay shaking things up Monday, deploying Bleday in the leadoff role for the first time. While the slugging outfielder may not seem like the prototypical candidate for the job on the surface, Bleday does have a solid .335 on-base percentage, 10.7 percent walk rate and 18.4 percent strikeout rate that speak to a level of plate discipline befitting a spot atop the order. • Launches 13th homer
Raleigh went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a stolen base and two walks in Monday's 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay.

Advice: Raleigh slugged his 13th home run of the season, his first since June 10. The 27-year-old has batted just .178 over the past two weeks, but he has added two home runs, three doubles, two stolen bases and 11 RBI during that span. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:01 pm

  • Cal Raleigh homers, steals base in loss to Rays
Cal Raleigh belted a solo homer and also stole a base on Monday in the Mariners’ loss to the Rays.

Advice: The aptly named “Big Dumper” isn’t exactly known for his stolen base prowess, but he’s flashes strong instincts on the bases throughout his career, and is now up to three thefts on the year. He connected for a fourth-inning solo shot off Rays starter Taj Bradley for his 13th long ball of the year. It was the first time he’s left the yard since June 10, snapping a 12-game homerless drought in the process. Rotoworld Monday, 7:42 pm

  • Back in lineup Monday
Neto (calf) is starting at shortstop and batting sixth for Monday's series opener against Oakland, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Neto was removed in the fourth inning of Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Dodgers due to left calf tightness. Angels manager Ron Washington said after Saturday's game that the injury was minor, per Sam Blum of The Athletic, and Neto will end up not missing any games with the team having its off day Sunday. Neto is slashing .250/.299/.433 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI across 272 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:38 pm

  • Mets waive catcher Joe Hudson
Mets designated C Joe Hudson for assignment

Advice: With Luis Torrens coming off the paternity list, the Mets will move on from Hudson. The 33-year-old caught half an inning over the weekend, which was his first MLB action in four years. Rotoworld Monday, 9:43 am

  • Cast off 40-man roster
The Mets designated Hudson for assignment Monday.

Advice: As expected, Hudson's stay with the Mets lasted only through the weekend while No. 2 catcher Luis Torrens (personal) was away from the team while on the paternity list. Torrens has since linked back up with the team and will be available Tuesday for the start of the two-game series against the Yankees, leaving no need for the Mets to carry Hudson as a third catcher. • Idle against southpaw
Rosario isn't in the Nationals' lineup Sunday versus the Rockies.

Advice: With left-hander Kyle Freeland on the bump for Colorado, the lefty-hitting Rosario will take a seat on Washington's bench. His absence will move Nick Senzel into the DH role while Trey Lipscomb starts at the hot corner, batting seventh. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:44 am
  • Out of lineup Sunday
Raleigh is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Raleigh will begin Sunday's game in the dugout after going 1-for-8 with one RBI over the first two games of the series. Mitch Garver will start behind home plate and bat seventh against Miami right-hander Kyle Tyler. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:35 am
