    • Sharp in third win
Kikuchi (3-5) earned the win Thursday over Baltimore, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Kikuchi held the Orioles scoreless through his first five innings, ultimately allowing a lone run on an Adley Rutschman solo home run in the sixth. It was an encouraging rebound effort from the 32-year-old left-hander, who'd given up 10 earned runs over just 8.1 innings in his previous two outings. Kikuchi lowered his ERA to 3.48 on the campaign with a 1.22 WHIP and 71:15 K:BB across 13 starts (72.1 innings). Kikuchi is currently scheduled to face the Brewers on the road in his next outing. • Short outing vs. Cleveland
Singer didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Guardians, allowing three runs (two earned) on nine hits and a walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Singer's final line could've been much worse, as he matched a season high with nine hits allowed while failing to make it through four innings. Prior to Thursday, Singer hadn't allowed more than one earned run in five of his last six outings. Overall, the 27-year-old right-hander is 4-2 on the year with a 2.76 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 66:20 K:BB across 12 starts (65.1 innings) this season. Singer's currently in line for a home matchup with the Yankees in his next start. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:44 pm

    • Rebounds for 12th save
McArthur delivered a perfect ninth inning Thursday to earn the save in a 4-3 win over the Guardians.

Advice: It was an encouraging outing from McArthur, who allowed four runs without recording an out in his last save opportunity. However, he's now recorded back-to-back hitless innings in his subsequent two appearances. Overall, McArthur is 12-for-16 in save chances with a 4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP despite an impressive 23:3 K:BB. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:35 pm

    • José Ramírez homers, drives in two against Royals
José Ramírez homered and drove in two runs in a loss Thursday to the Royals.

Advice: J-Ram took Brady Singer deep for his 17th homer of the season. He also drove in a run with an infield single. The 31-year-old has been outstanding in 2024 with 60 RBI, nine stolen bases and an .887 OPS. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:12 pm
    • James McArthur picks up save against Guardians
James McArthur was credited with a save Thursday while firing a scoreless ninth against the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: McArthur didn’t allow a hit, didn’t strike anyone out and didn’t issue a walk. It’s tough to do any of those things when you only throw 10 pitches, and seven of those went for strikes. McArthur has a couple of hiccups that have contributed to his 4.91 ERA, but he has been able to provide 12 saves to go with it. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:12 pm

    • Singer allows nine hits, two runs in no-decision
Brady Singer gave up nine hits and three runs — two earned — over 3 2/3 innings in a no-decision versus the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: Singer was making his first start since being unavailable due to illness. It didn’t go particularly well, as he needed 70 pitches to get 11 outs while allowing plenty of traffic throughout the contest. The 27-year-old still has a 2.76 ERA, and he has only given up more than two earned runs twice in his dozen starts. The Yankees are next, assuming Kansas City stays on scheduled with their rotation. • Eddie Rosario gets a day off on Thursday
Eddie Rosario is not in the Nationals’ lineup on Thursday against the Braves.

Advice: Rosario had started four of the last five games but will take a seat with Lane Thomas moving to right field and Joey Meneses entering the lineup at DH. Since Thomas has returned from the IL, Meneses and Rosario have shared playing time, with Rosario starting about two-thirds of the games. Meanwhile, Jacob Young has been playing almost every day in center field, which gives him some fantasy value with his speed. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:51 pm
    • Not starting Thursday
Rosario isn't in the Nationals' lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Although the Nationals will be matched up against right-hander Reynaldo Lopez on Thursday, Rosario will take a seat after going 4-for-19 with an RBI and two runs scored across his last five games. His absence will allow Jesse Winker to start in left field while Joey Meneses serves as Washington's designated hitter. Rotowire.com Thursday, 12:46 pm
    • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. swats three-run homer in win
Vladimir Guerrero popped a three-run homer Thursday to help the Blue Jays to a win over the Orioles.

Advice: Vladdy Jr. gave Cade Povich a rude introduction during Povich’s MLB debut with a three-run blast in the third. The 25-year-old also drew a walk and singled. Guerrero Jr. has made loads of hard contact and certainly has been a contributor in the average category with a .295 RBI, but it’s great to see the infielder start to drive the baseball on a more consistent basis as of late.
