However, a lack of run support from his offense combined with a collapse of Kansas City's bullpen following a lengthy rain delay will cause the 27-year-old righty to take his third loss in five starts. Doyle went 5-for-40 over the final 10 games of June but has quickly turned things around after the calendar flipped to July. He also smacked a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth inning that briefly gave the Rockies a 3-2 advantage. Bednar will be eligible to be reinstated to the active roster soon, but he could spend more than the 15-day minimum on the shelf since he's yet to get back on the mound.
