    • Scratched Saturday
Gurriel was scratched from Arizona's lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Mets.

Advice: It isn't immediately clear why Gurriel was taken out of the lineup, but the Diamondbacks should provide more information on his status relatively soon. In the meantime, Jake McCarthy will start in left field and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 10:45 am
    • Day off Saturday
Heim is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Marlins.

Advice: Heim will take a seat after he went 3-for-22 with a double, two RBI and a run scored while starting the team's last six contests. Andrew Knizner will take over behind the plate and bat ninth against Miami. Rotowire.com Today, 10:44 am

    • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. scratched from Saturday’s lineup
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has been scratched from Saturday’s lineup.

Advice: No word yet on the reason for the change. It’ll be Jake McCarthy taking over in left field on Saturday afternoon against the Mets at Citi Field. Rotoworld Today, 10:42 am
    • Plates three runs Friday
Cronenworth went 2-for-5 with a double, a run and three RBI in an 11-8 win over Kansas City on Friday.

Advice: Cronenworth was a key part of San Diego's nine-run eighth inning, knocking in the first two runs of the frame with a single and capping the outburst with an RBI double. The pair of base knocks were much-needed for the second baseman, as he had just one hit over his previous 14 at-bats prior to the big inning. Cronenworth slashed .265/.315/.461 with four homers, 18 RBI, nine runs and a stolen base over 26 games in May. Rotowire.com Today, 9:17 am

    • Three homers in four games
Bregman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Twins.

Advice: Bregman accounted for the Astros' only run with his seventh home run of the season. After a slow start to the campaign, he has started to turn things around, going 8-for-24 with three home runs, five RBI and four runs scored across his last six games. Bregman still has just a .652 OPS for the season, though he has managed 26 RBI across 55 games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:22 am

    • Bryan Woo (arm) likely to make next start vs. A’s
Mariners manager Scott Servais said late Friday that Bryan Woo (arm) is expected to make his next start.

Advice: Servais told reporters Woo was lifted after just 66 pitches since he’s been dealing with some “arm-stuff” and didn’t throw his usual between-starts bullpen session earlier this week. No word on the specific issue Woo is dealing with, but it doesn’t sound serious. It appears likely Seattle is merely exercising some caution with the 24-year-old righty, who has been phenomenal when healthy this season, but there’s zero indication that he’ll miss his next start on Thursday against the Athletics. He should benefit from an extra day of rest before taking the ball again. Rotoworld Today, 4:31 am

    • Ronal Blanco takes first loss of 2024
Ronel Blanco took his first loss Friday after giving up four runs in 4 2/3 innings against the Twins.

Advice: Blanco walked three and gave up a two-run homer to Trevor Larnach. Apart from the time he was ejected for his sticky stuff, this is the first time this year that Blanco has failed to complete five innings. He’s still playable in mixed leagues for now, particularly since he’s about to face the Royals and White Sox in two starts next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:40 pm

    • Hits grand slam off bench
Adell hit a grand slam as a pinch hitter in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Adell erased a four-run deficit when he checked into the game in the seventh inning, replacing Matt Thaiss. The homer also ended a 1-for-31 dry spell for Adell, who went 11-for-43 (.256) prior to that slump. The outfielder is already at 11 homers on the year while adding 27 RBI, eight stolen bases, 24 runs scored, four doubles and a triple over 162 plate appearances. Despite that success in counting stats, he's still batting just .211, though he's made up for it with a .476 slugging percentage. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:06 pm

    • Sharp in no-decision
Woo allowed three hits and struck out two without walking a batter over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Woo needed just 66 pitches (47 strikes) to complete six frames, but that was all for his start. Trent Thornton and Tayler Saucedo combined to allow four runs in the seventh inning, wiping out the Mariners' lead and Woo's chance to earn his third win of the year, but this was still a stellar outing for the 24-year-old. He's now at a 1.30 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 28:2 K:BB over 27.2 innings across five starts. The Mariners continue to manage his pitch count, but he's completed six innings in each of his last three starts thanks to his efficiency. Woo is projected for a road start in Oakland next week.
