      Marte went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Padres.

      Advice: The second baseman is on a roll to begin June, going 11-for-26 (.423) with three homers and six RBI over his first seven games of the month. Marte is up to 13 long balls, 35 RBI, 41 runs scored, one stolen base and a .282/.340/.508 slash line over 63 contests this season.       Miller did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-9 loss to Kansas City, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out one.

      Advice: Miller posted his worst start of the season, allowing nine baserunners and seven runs, each marking season worsts. The Seattle right-hander was cruising through three scoreless innings before allowing four runs in the fourth, rounded out with a three-run blast by MJ Melendez. The outing pushed Miller's WHIP north of one, as it now stands at 1.02 to go with a 3.81 ERA over 75.2 innings.       Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a three-run double and a walk versus the Angels in Friday’s win.

      Bassitt allowed a run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over eight innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Friday.

      Advice: Bassitt tamed one of his former teams, but reliever Chad Green gave up a walk-off hit in the ninth inning. In his longest outing of the year, Bassitt threw 71 of 102 pitches for strikes. He's limited opponents to one run or fewer in five of his 13 starts this season, pitching to a 3.80 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 70:28 K:BB through 73.1 innings.       Bryce Miller gave up seven runs in five innings but didn’t factor in the decision against the Royals on Friday.

      Advice: Miller was handed an 8-0 lead, but he nearly gave it all back himself. The right-hander walked three while allowing eight hits — including a three-run homer to MJ Melendez — and he struck out just one in his worst start of the season.       Chris Sale allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Friday.

      Advice: Sale gave up five hits, walked one and struck out 10. It was an impressive bounce back performance after he allowed eight runs in his last start. Sale has been tremendous at times this season. While he has a 3.01 ERA on the year, his xFIP is even better at 2.43. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week.       Justin Steele dropped to 0-3 after allowing three runs in seven innings Friday against the Reds.

      Advice: Two of the runs scored in the fourth after Steele had Elly De La Cruz picked off first base, only for Cruz to reach second because of errant throw from Michael Busch.       Matt Vierling went 1-for-3 with a walk against the Brewers on Friday.

      Advice: It was a quiet night for the Tigers offense as they were shutout and managed only two hits. Still, Vierling got on base twice out of the leadoff spot. His average is up to .282 with a .794 OPS on the season.     • Rebounds in losing effort
      Sale (8-2) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

      Advice: It was a strong bounce-back effort from Sale after he surrendered eight runs against Oakland in his last start. However, Atlanta couldn't get on the board until the eighth inning in an eventual 2-1 defeat. Sale now has eight or more strikeouts in six of his last seven outings. His ERA sits at 3.01 with a 0.94 WHIP and 92:11 K:BB across 12 starts (74.2 innings) this year. Sale's currently in line for a road matchup with the Orioles in his next outing.
