    • Completes seven innings in loss
Fedde (5-2) took the loss to the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Fedde allowed a two-run home run to Carson Kelly but was otherwise excellent, retiring the final 14 batters he faced. Despite the loss, this was Fedde's third consecutive quality start, and he has now yielded fewer than three earned runs in 12 of 16 outings this year. Fedde owns a 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB over 94.1 innings in what has been the best season of his career to this point . He tentatively lines up to face the Dodgers next week. • Erick Fedde pitches well in loss to Tigers Friday
Erick Fedde pitched well in a losing effort against the Tigers on Friday night, allowing just two runs on five hits over seven strong innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander punched out three batters on the evening while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came on one mighty swing of the bat by Carson Kelly on a 2-1 sweeper in the second inning. He settled in beautifully after that and retired the final 14 batters that he faced in the contest, but the White Sox were unable to provide the requisite support. Fedde got 12 whiffs on 92 pitches on the night — six on his sinker — while registering a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll carry a 5-2 record, 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and an 86/24 K/BB ratio (94 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Today, 5:56 pm
    • Set for rehab start Tuesday
Kershaw (shoulder) will make his second rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Kershaw made his first rehab outing with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday, when he allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out five over three innings. His fastball reached 90 miles per hour, which was right around his velocity in the 2023 regular season. Kershaw will need multiple rehab outings before joining the Dodgers' rotation, which could happen around the All-Star break in mid-July. Rotowire.com Today, 4:28 pm

    • Clayton Kershaw to make second rehab start Tuesday
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will make his second minor league rehab start at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Advice: The 36-year-old southpaw threw 36 pitches over three innings in his first minor league rehab start at High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday. Expect that he’ll build up to around 50 pitches during Tuesday’s outing. The original expectation was that Kershaw would require around four minor league rehab starts before he was ready to join the Dodgers’ rotation. Rotoworld Today, 4:27 pm

    • Zac Gallen to throw another sim game on Monday
Zac Gallen (hamstring) is expected to throw around 70 pitches in another simulated game on Monday.

Advice: Assuming all goes well with that session, the expectation is that he’ll rejoin the Diamondbacks’ rotation next weekend against the Athletics. The 28-year-old hurler had posted a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 60/15 K/BB ratio over 57 2/3 innings through his first 11 starts. Rotoworld Today, 3:03 pm

    • Starting Saturday
Gray will start Saturday's game against the Royals, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gray was scheduled to throw Monday at Milwaukee on seven days rest, but he'll have his start bumped up to Saturday to give Max Scherzer (thumb/back) extra rest. Gray had surrendered two or fewer runs 12 consecutive starts before being rocked for nine runs in three innings against the Mets on Monday. He yielded two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts across seven innings in a start against the Royals on May 5. Rotowire.com Today, 2:21 pm

    • David Fry absent from Guardians lineup on Friday
David Fry is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Blue Jays.

Advice: After lighting the world on fire for a couple of weeks at the plate, Fry has fallen on hard times since the calendar flipped to June — hitting just .208/.269/.292 with zero homers, three RBI and a 10/3 K/BB ratio over 52 plate appearances in his last 12 games. Austin Hedges will function as the Guardians’ catcher on Friday night and will bat ninth against Yariel Rodriguez and the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Today, 1:32 pm

    • Idle Friday
Fry is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: After making three straight starts -- one at catcher, two at DH -- Fry will take a seat Friday. Steven Kwan will DH and lead off while Austin Hedges catches and bats ninth. After batting .383 with seven homers in May, Fry has cooled off significantly in June, batting .208 without a home run in 52 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 1:20 pm

    • Goes yard again Thursday
Winker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: For the second straight game, Winker went yard in the sixth inning, this time taking Ryne Nelson deep. While those are the veteran outfielder's only two long balls in June, he's otherwise putting together an impressive month, slashing .389/.484/.519 through 17 games with nine runs and 10 RBI.
