      Advice: King was sharp, not allowing an extra-base hit and turning in another quality start, his fifth over his past six contests. The 29-year-old snapped a three-game streak allowing a home run, something he has struggled with all season -- his 1.8 HR/9 ranks in the ninth percentile. On the whole, King has been solid this season, recording a 3.82 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with a 78:31 K:BB across 73 innings.       Soler went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees.

      Advice: This was Soler's first multi-hit effort since May 22, and he went just 4-for-27 over the eight contests in between. The 32-year-old briefly got a look at leadoff in May, but he's since returned to the middle of the Giants' order. He's yet to find a groove for any extended period in 2024, slashing .215/.294/.372 with six home runs, 16 RBI, 22 runs scored and eight doubles over 48 contests.       Advice: Gorman opened the scoring with a two-run blast in the first inning and also provided the Cardinals with their winning run by adding an RBI single in the 10th. This was his fourth multi-hit effort over the last nine games, a span in which he's gone 11-for-32 (.344) with four homers and 10 RBI. He's up to a .223/.310/.457 slash line, 11 long balls, 28 RBI, 25 runs scored and two stolen bases through 51 contests. Gorman has been a near-everyday player lately, though the Cardinals called up Jose Fermin on Friday for infield depth, which could lead to Gorman sitting out against some southpaws moving forward. He's earned a save in eight straight outings despite his recent shakiness, and he still has a 2.42 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB over 26 innings while converting 19 of 20 save chances this season.       Advice: Gorman got the scoring started with a bang, crushing a 367-foot (108.6 mph EV) two-out, two-run shot off of Phillies’ right-hander Taijuan Walker in the opening frame. He then smacked a two-out go-ahead RBI single off of Gregory Soto to give the Cardinals the lead in the 10th inning.       Ryan Helsley closed out the Phillies in the 10th inning on Sunday night, working a scoreless frame to protect a one-run advantage.

      Advice: The 29-year-old right-hander had to do some work, as Bryce Harper advanced to third base on a fly ball to start the inning, but Helsley battled back to strike out Cristian Pache and Nick Castellanos to leave the tying run stranded there.       Advice: Caballero belted the first pitch of the seventh inning over the left-field wall for his third homer of the year. It was also his second hit of the day, representing his ninth multi-hit game in 54 games this season.     • Michael King gets tough luck no decision vs KC
      Michael King allowed one run on four hits in seven innings in a no-decision against the Royals.

      Advice: King was all set to record the win with the Padres up 3-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning. However, with their bullpen being taxed heavily over the last few days, the Padres had to go with Yuki Matsui to close the game, and he allowed three runs while only recording one out. King was only able to induce eight whiffs on 48 swings for a 17 percent whiff rate and 24 percent CSW, but he allowed an average exit velocity on all batted balls of just 84 mph.       Oneil Cruz went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored against the Blue Jays on Sunday.

      Advice: Each of Cruz’s hits were blistered - the first a single at 117.2 MPH off the bat and then later a 111.8 MPH double.
