    • Ian Happ swats go-ahead two-run homer vs. Cubs
Ian Happ went 1-for-2 while hitting a go-ahead two-run homer to help the Cubs to a 5-3 win over the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: With the score tied at 3-3, Happ blistered a homer to right-center with Seiya Suzuki on board to give the Cubs the two-run lead and ultimately the victory. It’s the second big roundtripper for Happ in three days, as he hit a go-ahead homer in the 10th against San Francisco on Thursday. Over his 78 games, Happ is now hitting .231/.346/.422 with 11 homers, 44 RBI and seven stolen bases. A solid — if unspectacular — first half. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago

    • Justin Steele allows three over six against MIL
Justin Steele allowed three runs in six innings of work in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: Once again, Steele wasn’t able to pick up a win, and he remains without a W in the 2024 campaign. He allowed seven hits in this outing while not issuing a walk and striking out five. While the lack of wins is frustrating, it’s more an example of how flawed the stat is, as he’s pitched well in 2024 with a 3.20 ERA and 70/16 K/BB over 70 1/3 innings. Steele’s next chance to grab a victory is scheduled for Friday against the Angels. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago
    • Marte has three-hit game in win against Oakland
Ketel Marte went 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Marte started the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning. He has a hit in five of his last six games. In that time, he’s 10-for-22 (.454) with two home runs and seven RBI. On the season, Marte is hitting .290 with an .877 OPS and 49 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 3:36 pm

    • Paul Goldschmidt slugs solo homer in loss
Paul Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Goldschmidt took Carson Spiers deep for a solo homer in the sixth inning for his only hit of the game as the Cardinals fell to the Reds. The 36-year-old slugger is up to 11 homers while slashing .228/.298/.367 with 39 runs scored, 33 RBI, and four steals across 344 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 2:26 pm

    • Beginning to ramp up rehab
Muncy (oblique) took swings off a tee, fielded groundballs and did some throwing Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Muncy's progress from a Grade 1 right oblique strain has been slow to the extent that he was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 21. However, the third baseman appears to be beginning to ramp up, and the Associated Press reports that his next step will be to take live batting practice before potentially beginning a rehab assignment. Muncy isn't expected to return to the Dodgers' lineup until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 9:22 am

    • Works out on treadmill
Stanton (hamstring) resumed activity on a treadmill Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Given the nature of Stanton's injury, any work on a treadmill is a sign of positive progress, though manager Aaron Boone characterized the slugger's activity level as "not a lot." Stanton went on the injured list with a hamstring strain June 23 and subsequently said he expects to miss about four weeks of action, so he's not expected to be activated until after the All-Star break. The veteran had been swinging a hot bat prior to getting hurt, slashing .378/.439/.649 with three homers and nine RBI during a 10-game hitting streak. Rotowire.com Today, 8:28 am

    • Max Muncy (oblique) resumes swinging
Max Muncy (oblique) progressed to taking swings off a tee earlier this week.

Advice: Muncy isn’t eligible to return from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break in a couple weeks, but he’s starting to make some progress towards a second-half return. The veteran corner infielder’s recovery from a right oblique strain that he suffered back in mid-May has gone much slower than originally anticipated, and it’s certainly had a negative impact on the Dodgers’ overall offensive output. • Salvador Perez goes 2-for-4, hits 13th home run
Salvador Perez went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and a walk Friday in the Royals’ 10-3 drubbing of the Guardians.

Advice: Perez has hit in five straight after struggling for the first three weeks of the month. He’s thus far posted OPSs of 1.013 in April, .815 in May and .613 in June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:33 pm

    • Homers again in win
Cowser went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 2-1 win over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Cowser opened the scoring with a solo home run off Max Scherzer in the fourth inning. While the young outfielder is hitting just .203 in June, he has now homered in his past three starts and has five total in the month. On the season, Cowser is hitting .231 with 12 home runs, 34 RBI, 32 runs scored and five steals in 257 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:22 pm
