• Pete Crow-Armstrong doubles twice in loss to Phillies
Pete Crow-Armstrong smacked a pair of RBI doubles on Wednesday in the Cubs’ loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Crow-Armstrong delivered a pair of run-scoring doubles off Phillies ace Zack Wheeler before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning with Chicago trailing by two runs at the time. The 22-year-old top prospect hasn’t exactly torn the cover off the ball, but he’s shown some flashes of fantasy upside, especially in the stolen base department. He’s a phenomenal defender in center field, which is going to keep him around for a long time, but he remains a work in progress at the dish. Rotoworld Today, 7:53 pm
  • José Alvarado silences Cubs to net 13th save
José Alvarado fired a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Cubs to record his 13th save of the season.

Advice: Alvarado was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning at Wrigley Field and managed to work around a one-out single by David Bote to preserve the victory. The 29-year-old lefty has converted 13 of his 15 save opportunities this season for Philadelphia. Rotoworld Today, 7:53 pm
  • Zack Wheeler whiffs seven in no-decision vs. Cubs
Zack Wheeler recorded seven strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Cubs.

Advice: Wheeler gave up only five hits with a pair of run-scoring doubles from Cubs rookie Pete Crow-Armstrong accounting for all of the damage against him across six frames. He induced 13 swinging strikes and finished with a 28 percent CSW. The 34-year-old fantasy ace has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 15 of his 18 starts so far this season. He’ll bring a stellar 2.74 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 119/33 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a challenging home matchup against the Dodgers in his penultimate outing prior to the Midsummer Classic. • Shota Imanaga strikes out eight in no-decision
Shota Imanaga struck out eight and yielded three runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: Imanaga was cruising along early before giving up a solo homer to Phillies backstop Rafael Marchán in the third inning and a two-run blast to All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm in his final frame of work. He generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a 28 percent CSW. He’ll carry a sparkling 3.16 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 92/15 K/BB ratio across 91 innings (16 starts) into a tough road tilt against the Orioles on Tuesday in his penulatimate outing prior to the All-Star break. • Carson Kelly blasts grand slam in rout over Twins
Carson Kelly clobbered a grand slam in the third inning on Wednesday night, powering the Tigers to a 9-2 victory over the Twins in Minneapolis.

Advice: Kelly broke up a scoreless tie when he crushed a 387-foot (103.5 mph EV) grand slam off of David Festa in the third inning. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but was all the offense that Keider Montero and company would require in this one. On the season, the 29-year-old backstop is now hitting .245/.321/.406 with six homers and 25 RBI. He’s looking increasingly likely to be dealt in advance of the trade deadline at the end of the month. Rotoworld Today, 7:38 pm

  • Riley Greene has three hits, homer in lopsided win
Riley Greene went 3-for-4 with a homer, triple and two RBI on Wednesday evening, helping to lead the Tigers to victory over the Twins.

Advice: Greene smacked a two-out triple in the first inning, but the Tigers were unable to cash him in. He then reached on an infield single to load the bases with two outs in the third inning, then rode home on Carson Kelly’s grand slam. He also clubbed a 427-foot (111.8 mph EV) two-run blast off of David Festa in the fifth inning that extended the Tigers’ lead to 7-1. With the three-hit attack, the dynamic 23-year-old outfielder is now hitting .260/.354/.497 with a team-leading 16 homers, 43 RBI and four stolen bases on the year. Rotoworld Today, 7:36 pm

  • Matt Vierling leaves the yard in win over Twins
Matt Vierling went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer and a pair of runs scored on Wednesday as the Tigers triumphed over the Twins in Minnesota.

Advice: Showing no ill-effects of the foot issue that kept him out of the lineup on Sunday and Tuesday, Vierling bunted into a fielder’s choice in the third inning and rode home on Carson Kelly’s grand slam. He then did a little yard work of his own, crushing a 386-foot (108.9 mph EV) two-run shot off of Kody Funderburk in the ninth inning that capped off the scoring in the contest. On the season, he’s now hitting .249/.284/.443 with 11 homers and 35 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 7:36 pm

  • Back in action Wednesday
Vierling (foot) will start at third base and bat leadoff during Wednesday's game versus Minnesota, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: A sore left foot has prevented Vierling from playing in Detroit's last two games, but he seems to be feeling better ahead of Wednesday's contest. The 27-year-old has gone 4-for-20 with a homer and three RBI over his last five games. Rotowire.com Today, 3:10 pm

  • Tigers recall Keider Montero to start on Wednesday
Tigers recalled RHP Keider Montero from Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: The 23-year-old right-hander will take the place of the injured Casey Mize (hamstring) in the team’s rotation. He’ll start on Wednesday night against the Twins. Montero has already made two appearances with the Tigers this season, registering a 9.35 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and an 11/4 K/BB ratio over 8 2/3 innings. He shouldn’t be considered as a streaming option on Wednesday night against the high-powered Twins’ offense. Rotoworld Today, 3:07 pm
