    Mike Yastrzemski (elbow) was held out of the Giants’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Guardians in Cleveland.

    Advice: The 33-year-old outfielder was pulled from Thursday’s game as a precautionary measure after being hit in the elbow by a pitch. It sounds like Yastrzemski was able to avoid any significant injury, but he’s still a bit sore and will sit against right-hander Tanner Bibee on Friday night.     Advice: It’ll be the seventh straight game that the 29-year-old outfielder has missed due to a balky back, but as we’ve seen all season long the Braves’ aren’t afraid to play with a shorthanded bench.     Advice: France set the table nicely for teammates on the two occasions he reached safely, crossing the plate on Ryan Bliss's double-play groundout in the fifth and then scoring on J.P. Crawford's bases-clearing two-bagger in the seventh. The 29-year-old infielder has now reached safely in four straight games, but a lack of pop continues to weigh him down -- France has a sole extra-base hit (home run) over the 60 plate appearances he's logged across the 15 games he's played since returning from the injured list June 18.   • Reaches four times in win
    Lowe went 3-for-5 in Thursday's win over the Royals with a double, a homer and three runs scored while also drawing a walk.

    Advice: Lowe doubled in his second trip to the plate before coming around to score four batters later on a Jonny DeLuca single, extending Tampa Bay's lead to four runs. The second baseman then added a solo homer in the sixth and went on to reach four times in the contest - the first time he's done so this season. Lowe's three hits on the night also marked a season high, and he's now homered three of his last four games. Over that stretch he's batting .333 (5-for-15) with three RBI and six runs scored.     Advice: Lowe’s stolen base was his sixth of the season. He drove in Isaac Paredes with an RBI double in the first inning and scored on Ben Rortvedt’s two-run single in the fifth inning.     Advice: Lowe’s home run was his eighth of the season and third in his last four games. He took Will Smith deep for a solo shot in the sixth inning.     X-rays came back negative on Yastrzemski's elbow after he was hit by a pitch Thursday against Atlanta, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
