  • Brice Turang slugs grand slam in loss to Padres
    Brice Turang singled twice, drew a walk and belted a grand slam on Saturday night as the Brewers were thwarted by the Padres in San Diego.

    Advice: Turang led off the game with a walk but was gunned down by Kyle Higashioka while attempting to steal second base. Then he singled to center in the third inning and was once again cut down trying to nab second base. Turang had been caught stealing just twice all season entering play on Saturday. Then he prevented a shutout with a two-out grand slam off of Jhony Brito in the ninth inning that pulled the Brewers to within two runs at 6-4. With his three-hit effort, the 24-year-old infielder is now hitting .296/.360/.416 with five homers, 31 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 30 attempts on the season. Rotoworld Saturday, 6:59 pm
     
  • Jones strikes out eight in seven innings in win
    Jared Jones allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Pirates’ 4-3 victory over the Rays on Saturday.



    Advice: Jones gave up three hits, walked three and struck out eight. Tampa Bay couldn’t get much offense going against Jones. The Rays scored on an RBI groundout by Josh Lowe in the first inning and an RBI single by Ben Rortvedt in the fourth inning. The win was his fifth of the season. Jones’ ERA is down to 3.66 with a SO:BB of 93:25 this year. The 22-year-old rookie right-hander is set to face the Braves on the road next weekend.

  • Jared Jones fires seven strong in win over Rays
    Jared Jones struck out eight while allowing two runs in seven innings Saturday to get a win over the Rays.

    Advice: Jones gave up just three hits, and while he did issue three walks, the strikeouts were able to get him out of the majority of jams. The only blemishes were a fielder’s choice that scored a run in the first and an RBI single by Ben Rortvedt in the fourth.   • Guarantees return Sunday
    Profar (knee) is available off the bench Saturday against the Brewers and said that he will "100 percent" be playing in Sunday's series finale, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

    Advice: Profar was removed from Friday's game with a left knee issue and was held out of the starting lineup Saturday. However, it sounds like he'll be back in action Sunday and appears to have avoided a significant injury.     Jurickson Profar (knee) is not in the Padres’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s matchup against the Brewers.

    Advice: The 31-year-old outfielder aggravated his left knee injury during Friday’s battle against the Brewers. The good news is that he hasn’t been placed on the injured list. Profar has been playing through the knee issue for a while now and believes that he’ll be able to return to the lineup for Sunday’s series finale. He’s considered day-to-day.     Advice: Gurriel was removed from Friday's game due to a sore left elbow, and it is seemingly bothering him enough to keep him from playing Saturday, though the D-backs don't believe his injury to be anything too serious.     Mullins went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 14-11 loss to the Astros.

    Advice: Mullins has multiple hits in three straight games, and he's added a pair of extra-base hits and three steals in that span. He's batting .333 (14-for-42) over his last 12 contests, a stretch that has helped him regain a starting role in center field. The outfielder is batting .202 on the year -- this is the first time he's been at or above .200 since May 8.
