    • Sprains ankle in workout
      Edman (wrist) sprained his ankle while fielding grounders Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

      Advice: The injury isn't viewed as a major setback, but it's not ideal after Edman had finally been making some real progress in his recovery from right wrist surgery. The Cardinals had been hopeful that Edman would be ready for a rehab assignment soon, and while that still could be the case, the ankle issue could delay him a few days.     • Clubs homer in loss
      Santander went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-8 loss to the Guardians.

      Advice: Santander's up to 12 homers over 24 contests in June. The power surge is impressive, though he's losing a little consistency at the plate by going just 2-for-15 over the last four games. That quiet stretch has taken some of the wind out of his sails as he looks to get his season-long batting average to a respectable level.       Anthony Santander slugged a solo homer on Tuesday in the Orioles’ loss to the Guardians.

      Advice: Santander went deep off Guardians reliever Sam Hentges in the eighth inning of this one. He’s homered 12 times since the start of June and is up to 21 round-trippers on the year already.       Duran went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 7-6 walk-off win over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Duran figured prominently in the come-from-behind win, in which Boston scored five times in the final two innings. Thanks to a miscommunication by Toronto's left side of the infield, his eighth-inning popup fell to the ground for a double followed by David Hamilton's two-run home run. An inning later, Duran produced the walk-off run with a single. The outfielder has multiple hits in five consecutive games (12-for-23) and has hit safely in 14 straight.       Jarren Duran went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI against the Blue Jays on Monday.

      Advice: Duran capped off the Red Sox’ comeback with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth that scored Ceddanne Rafaela.       Reds manager David Bell said Monday that he expects Friedl (hamstring) to return from the 10-day injured list in 2-to-3 weeks, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

      Advice: Cincinnati placed Friedl on the IL on Monday after he aggravated a left hamstring strain in Sunday's 7-4 loss to Boston. The Reds called up Levi Jordan from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move to burnish their depth in the outfield, but Stuart Fairchild could be given the first opportunity to replace Friedl as the club's everyday center fielder.
