      Advice: Duran made two big plays in the final innings to spur Boston to a win. In the eighth, he tagged up on a shallow foul out and beat Stuart Fairchild's throw to the plate for the go-ahead run. An inning later, Duran victimized Fairchild again, robbing him of a home run by reaching over the fence to record the second out.       Friedl went 2-for-5 in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Boston.

      Advice: Friedl's fifth-inning single snapped an 0-for-16 run. Later in the same inning, Friedl was thrown out at home trying to score on an infield grounder -- one of three baserunning miscues in the game. After missing most of the first two months of the season due to injuries, Friedl is healthy and has started 19 of the 21 games since returning from a second stint on the injured list in late May.       Jarren Duran went 2-for-4 with a run scored against the Reds on Saturday.

      Advice: Duran won this game for Boston. He singled in the eighth inning and came around to score the go-ahead run. Then in a one-run game in the ninth inning, Duran robbed what would’ve been a home run off the bat of Stuart Fairchild. Duran is hitting .283 with an .826 OPS on the season.       Duran went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Reds.

      Advice: Duran hit one of five solo home runs the two teams combined to crush in the first three innings before the game settled into a pitching match. His third-inning homer was the second in as many games and extended a hit streak to 11 contests, during which he's 18-for-48 (.375) with seven extra-base hits, five walks, five steals, seven RBI and 12 runs. Duran is proving that his breakout last season was no fluke.       Friedl went 0-for-2 with an RBI and was hit by a pitch in Friday's 5-2 win over Boston.

      Advice: Friedl, who was hitless in 14 consecutive at-bats when he came up in the seventh inning with runners in scoring position, was thinking bunt. The player that led the majors last season with 17 bunt hits laid down a squeeze bunt. When the throw to the plate got past Red Sox catcher Connor Wong, both runners scored, giving Cincinnati some separation.       Santander went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's loss to Houston.

      Advice: Santander knocked an RBI single in the third inning before capping off Baltimore's seven-run eighth with a two-run shot. He entered June with nine homers and a .712 OPS through 51 games. Since then, he's caught fire; Santander has ripped 11 home runs while producing a 1.090 OPS in 20 June contests.       Advice: Martinez opened the scoring with a three-run home run off Shota Imanaga in the first inning, and he then added an RBI single in the fourth. Martinez went 1-for-10 in a quiet series against the Rangers earlier this week but continued a nice June, as he's now hitting .297 with four home runs and 17 RBI in 64 at-bats.       J.D. Martinez delivered a three-run homer and an RBI single Friday as the Mets torched the Cubs 11-1.

      Advice: Martinez is 11-for-27 with four homers, three doubles and 12 RBI in his last eight games. His current .870 OPS is practically a match for his career mark of .873, but it’s especially impressive given the current conditions, especially for a Mets hitter. Unfortunately, he’s probably going to lose his streak of five straight All-Star appearances, unless maybe the NL carries a third DH alongside Shohei Ohtani and Marcell Ozuna.       TJ Friedl (hamstring) returned to the Reds’ starting lineup for Friday night’s series opener against the Red Sox.

      Advice: Friedl had missed each of the team’s last two games due to tightness in his hamstring. The 28-year-old outfielder has struggled to stay on the field this season, managing to hit .214/.320/.381 with four homers, 15 RBI and six stolen bases in just 23 games in-between stints on the injured list.
