• Back in starting nine
Kepler (neck) will start in right field and bat cleanup in Tuesday's game in Arizona.

Advice: Kepler missed three starts while battling neck spasms, but he's ready to give it a go following Monday's team off day. The veteran outfielder comes into action Tuesday with just a .548 OPS in June, although he has homered twice in his previous five contests. Rotowire.com Today, 2:02 pm

  • Max Kepler returns to lineup Tuesday vs. D-backs
Max Kepler (neck) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kepler is back in right field and batting cleanup on Tuesday night out at Chase Field in Arizona following a three-game absence due to neck spasms. The 31-year-old corner outfielder holds a pedestrian .733 OPS with six homers and one steal in 207 plate appearances over 55 games this season. Rotoworld Today, 1:56 pm

  • Goes deep in loss
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Garcia gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead with his sixth-inning blast, though the advantage was wiped out on a Rhys Hoskins grand slam in the bottom of the frame. As with Hoskins, Garcia's homer ended an extended power drought -- the outfielder hadn't gone deep in any of his past 17 games and had driven in just one run during that span. Garcia is tied for the Rangers' lead with 14 long balls on the season, but he's below pace to match the 39 homers and 107 RBI he racked up last year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:51 pm

  • Notches save Monday
Vesia struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: In a somewhat surprising move, the Dodgers deployed primary closer Evan Phillips to face the heart of Chicago's order in the eighth inning. That left closing duties to Vesia, who needed just 10 pitches to slam the door on the White Sox and earn his fourth save. Monday's usage suggests that manager Dave Roberts isn't opposed to having Phillips handle the highest-leverage situations even when they come before the ninth frame, and Vesia may be the likeliest option to close in such instances. Nonetheless, Phillips is still likely to get the vast majority of save opportunities, so fantasy managers shouldn't bank on many more saves from Vesia moving forward. • Luis Rengifo remains in after HBP, gets two hits
Luis Rengifo went 2-for-3 with two runs scored against the A’s on Monday.

Advice: Rengifo was hit in the wrist by a pitch in his first at-bat and was clearly in pain for a bit, but he was able to continue and pick up two knocks afterwards. He scored multiple runs in a game for the first time since May 28. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:37 pm

  • Ohtani walks, hits sac fly in win over White Sox
Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: It was a quiet game for the Dodgers offense against White Sox starter Garrett Crochet. Ohtani hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to give Los Angeles a 3-0 lead. It was his 58th RBI on the season. He trails only Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna for the National League lead in RBI. Ohtani is hitting .318 with a 1.021 OPS on the season. • Vesia picks up fourth save Monday
Alex Vesia threw a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Evan Phillips pitched the eighth inning while Vesia got the ninth inning and thus his fourth save of the season. Phillips was likely used in the eighth inning because all four batters he faced were right-handed. Vesia’s ERA is now 1.16 on the year, but don’t expect many more saves in his future as long as Phillips is healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:15 pm

  • Plays catch from 90 feet
Ohtani (elbow) played catch from 90 feet Monday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Ohtani is throwing from 90 feet for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery last September. He continues to progress in his rehab with no issues, and he's certainly shown no ill effects at the plate as a result of his ongoing recovery from the elbow issue. The Dodgers haven't ruled out the possibility of Ohtani playing the outfield at some point in 2024, though that still seems like a long shot. He will continue to serve as the club's designated hitter, with an eye on resuming two-way duties in 2025. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:12 pm

  • Losing work against right-handers
Joe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Joe is on the bench for the Pirates' third straight matchup with a right-handed starting pitcher (Carson Spiers) and looks to have faded into a short-side platoon role. Edward Olivares looks to have overtaken Joe as the Pirates' preferred option in right field versus righties. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:52 pm
