    Christopher Sanchez allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Pirates on Saturday.



    Advice: Sanchez gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out two. Sanchez hasn’t been the dominant pitcher we saw in May and June, but he pitched well enough to win as he allowed only two runs for the second straight start. His ERA is 2.97 on the season. The 27-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home next weekend.

  • On-field activities intensifying
    Tucker (lower leg) participated in "intense defensive drills" Saturday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Tucker resumed baseball activities this week that have progressed from light to intense. Saturday's update indicates that Tucker could be ready for a rehab assignment in the near future, an expected step in his recovery considering he's been shelved since early June.     Advice: The 27-year-old superstar outfielder had been doing light on-field activities earlier in the week, so it sounds like this was at least a step up from there. There’s still no word on when he’ll be able to start hitting again — or how long he’ll need before he’s able to return to the Astros’ lineup. Since the beginning of June, Lindor is slashing .290/.383/.529 with eight of his 17 homers and 11 of his 19 steals on the season as he closes in on the fourth 20-20 campaign of his career.     Advice: San Diego didn't get a runner past second base against Bibee, who got the hook after 102 pitches (67 strikes) just short of his eighth quality start of the season. While this was an encouraging outing after the right-hander gave up eight runs in 11.2 innings over his last two starts before the All-Star break, Bibee has issued multiple walks in three straight trips to the mound, something he hadn't done since April.     India went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Friday's 8-5 loss to Washington.

    Advice: India singled in the Reds' first run then stole a bag in the third inning. The steal was his ninth of the season. India once again batted atop the order, as normal leadoff hitter TJ Friedl (hamstring) remains on the injured list. Friedl could return next week.
