    Bassitt (7-7) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

    Advice: Bassitt got off to a terrible start in allowing six of the first seven batters he faced to reach base, resulting in three Astros runs. The veteran hurler bounced back to give up just one more run over the remainder of his five frames, but the first-inning damage was enough to send him to his seventh loss of the season. Bassitt had been rolling coming into Thursday, posting a 1.41 ERA across his previous five starts, and the four runs he yielded against Houston were his most since he gave up seven runs against the Dodgers on April 26. Bassitt's overall numbers this season have been pretty much in line with what fantasy managers have come to expect from him -- he has a 3.43 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 94:41 K:BB across 102.1 frames.     Lively (8-4) picked up the win Thursday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.

    Advice: Lively nabbed his second consecutive quality start - his fifth of 2024 - and generated his most punchouts since May 20. The 32-year-old was tagged by Paul DeJong for a two-run homer in the sixth inning but was otherwise excellent. Through 77.1 innings, Lively owns a 3.14 ERA and a 67:22 K:BB.     Jeffers went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, an RBI double, an RBI single and an additional run scored during Thursday's 12-3 win over the Tigers.

    Advice: Although Thursday's contest was rained out after seven innings, Jeffers and the Twins' offense had no trouble putting up runs. Jeffers drove in four of those runs, highlighted by a two-run home run off Kenta Maeda in the fourth inning. Jeffers' roundtripper was his 15th of the year which is a career-high tally.     Advice: Burnes, who welcomed twins over the weekend, was strong in his return to the mound. He threw 62 of 94 pitches for strikes, but he gave up both runs in the fifth inning, including one on a solo home run by Julio Rodriguez. Burnes has posted a quality start in all but one of his last 13 outings, though this was just the second time in his last seven starts that he didn't come away with a win. He has an excellent 2.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 105:25 K:BB through 112.2 innings over 18 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Cubs and should be set to pitch on a regular schedule with the Orioles electing for a five-man rotation moving forward.     Advice: Happ blasted his 12th dinger in the fourth with a three-run shot from the right side of the plate that put the Cubs on the board, then turned around and repeated the feat from the left side of the plate in the fifth. It was the second multi-homer game of the season for Happ, while the six RBI represent a season high. Happ, who entered the day batting 6-for-38 (.158) over the previous 12 games, raised his season average from .227 to .238 with 13 homers, 20 doubles, 50 RBI, 47 runs and seven steals.   • Corbin Burnes tallies six strikeouts vs. Mariners
    Corbin Burnes struck out six and allowed two runs over six innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

    Advice: Burnes set down 12 straight batters to open the contest, and carried a shutout into the fifth inning, before coughing up a gargantuan solo homer to Mariners struggling superstar Julio Rodríguez. He proceeded to load the bases with nobody out in the frame, but managed to wriggle out of the jam with only one run crossing the plate. The overall strikeout total doesn’t seem that impressive, but he generated an eye-popping 18 swinging strikes and finished with a 31 percent CSW. The 29-year-old fantasy ace will bring a sparkling 2.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 105/25 K/BB ratio across 112 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing on Wednesday against the Cubs in his final start prior to the Midsummer Classic.   • Ian Happ hits two three-run homers in rout
    Ian Happ went 4-for-4 and hit a pair of three-run homers as the Cubs crushed the Phillies 10-2 on Thursday.

    Advice: One of Happ’s remaining hits was a double, giving him 11 total bases in four plate appearances. Unfortunately, he was on deck when the bottom of the eighth ended, denying him a chance to add on. Happ has seven homers in his last 18 games after totaling just six in his first 64.   • Ryan Jeffers goes 3-for-5, homers in rout
    Ryan Jeffers went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI against the Tigers on Thursday.

    Advice: He was also hit by a pitch in the seventh on what proved to be the last play in a rain-shortened game. Jeffers had a great first month and a half, followed by a bad second month and a half; he came into this one batting .157/.252/.269 since May 15.
